Agency Power Exhaust Review? Anyone?
Hey all, I know these Agency Power axle-backs have been selling pretty well. Can anyone shed some light on the sound, drone, fitment etc?

Had mine for a couple of weeks now, including a 300 mile road trip up I-5 yesterday. I'm very happy with the sound, though still a little unclear as to what the standard definition of a "drone" is.. With the cruise on at 75, you can definitely hear the system, but not a wavering tone, and not anything annoying, at least for me. Excellent fitment, build quality, weight savings, and sweet price. With many systems over $2k, I'm curious to hear what the extra grand gets you in the sound dept...(?)

. With one of my previous set-ups there was horrible drone at 2200-3000 when the engine was under a little load (like lightly accelerating or going up a slight grade). None of that with this system?

It is definitely louder under a load, but I think you'll get that with just about any aftermarket system that is louder than stock... I just got it back from the 1200 mile service here in Portland. The SA told me the shop guys all loved the sound and were very impressed with the fit. He said they had never seen an AP system, but commented that the welds looked a lot better than most of the high dollar systems that have come through their dealership.... Since you're in so cal, I'm sure you could be able to find someone with an AP set-up to hear for yourself... It's probably the only way to know for sure if it meets your requirements on the sound front... Good luck! |

Local board sponsor/vendor Ape Performance (Taylor) showed me it in person when I bought the matte black grills from him. Welds look great! I'm torn between this, Riss Racing & Gintani since they're all roughly $1400-$1800. I, too can't justify $2k+ for a bolt-on muffler.

Wow, if it's that loud it's a deal-killer for me. I'm running an EI x-pipe, so I'm sure it would be way too loud for a daily driver.

With out an X pipe and the the exhaust system, I'm sure it sounds sweet. Price ain't too bad, not as heavy as the Eisenmann and good quality build to boot.

You could always by my Bastuck for pretty cheap. It's deeper and a little louder than stock, mostly in the lower RPM's and the X-pipe usually kicks in higher up from what I understand.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Now here's the $1,757.00 (price of the AP Exhaust) question...is there any drone? If so how bad and where at the rpm/gear range?

It won't, it should sound slightly less exotic. Materials play a role in sound, but not as much as the design of the muffler itself

I wouldn't say it's as loud as the Eisenmann Race.
It's really subjective; I have one customer who thinks it's too loud, another who wants to run straight pipes because it's not loud enough. |
