Auto lock
Does anyone know if the car has an auto lock feature. The other day I was at work and found that I had forgotten to lock the doors.. don't want this to happen again.

The only autolock feature available in the M3 that I know of is thru the OEM alarm: if you unlock the car with the remote and don't open a door within 2 minutes or so. The car will lock itself up after that that elapsed time.

Then I'd ask myself if I should be driving at all . Seriously, never seen a stock car do that; can't expect a car to do everything for you. It's already easy enough with a button (remember when you had to use a key?), or even easier with CA by just touching the handle. I'm certainly not looking forward to the day everything is automated. Take care.

Most -if not all- aftermarket car alarms can be set to be passive, so they will lock your doors without any action from the driver. Just shut the car off, get out, close door and walk away... within 1-2 minutes the car will lock automatically and the alarm will activate itself.
Unfortunately no OEM alarm is able to do that that I know of, most probably for liability reasons. |
