Thanks. I am considering the 18 X 10, but have not decided on brand yet. Turner ForgeLine look good, with a rim/tire combo deal. They recommend square set up, 275/35/18 with rear spacers. Expensive. Same combo from TireRack less money, but I do not know about the rims they offer with their combo. Also Bimmerworld 4D Force LTW 5 look good. Decisions, decisions.

The few E982s that I have seen at the track all have a square set up, and in talking with some of them, they state it seems to work well.

my 2c is that square is popular because the E46 M3 had so much understeer that lots of front grip was needed to help counter it

not so much with the E9x

I think the Forgeline rims are forged like the name suggests. Two people here ended up bending the cast rims tirerack sells, so be careful if you go with those.

With the setup that I am running on my E92,I cannot believe that a square setup would work OK for myself.I am running a 255/35 8.5 & 265/35 9.5 and I find the car quite loose even in 4th gear corners.I am running stock settings and have not found that understeer has been an issue at all and the car can be prevoked into oversteer at will with the throttle.

I am one of those, who bent the TRMotorsport wheels. Very slightly, though. But, the whole "accident" - I spinned out but never left the track - was really minor. I ended up having the wheel repaired, tires remounted and balanced. Then the wheel weight came off! So far I am not happy with the TRMotorsport wheels. I try to save for the Advan RS or the Volk TE37.

This thread has been very enlightening. However, how critical is the off set on these rims? Is it driven by tire size? After reading I don't know how many posts, and talking with people at the track, I still have not decided on which direction to persue. I appreciate the comments herein on handling, thus I am leaning toward a staggard set up, say using BFG 265/35 front and 285/30 rear. If possible, I would like to avoid spacers. Comments appreciated.

Well, Lucid avoided spacers with the TCKline wheels with min. track width reduction.
I am using 10mm spacers up front with the 18x9 TRMotorsport wheels but not on the rear (I did use 5mm at the rear initially). I got the 18x10 TRMotorsport wheels at the rear. 265/35 front and 285/30 rear BFG-r1 tires.
i beleive the staggered stup since the car has more issue with oversteer exiting corners than understeer entering ones. At least with my driving on MAM track.
I do not want to talk you out of the TRMotorsport wheels at all. Just mentioned thatI got a smal flat spot with really minimal trauma. So they are not strong. But if you can avoid any injury, never "leave" the track I think they are OK.

Track reduction with this setup is minor. Using 5mm spacers would put them really close to stock track. I thought the stock hub did not extend far enough to use them, but it turns out it does (I checked with a track tech), so I might use them.

VZ, if you will run 285 in the back, get 10.5" rims that are as close to the stock offset as possible. I think TC might have these wheels at 25mm offset as well, which should be perfect. This set was slightly used at a great price; I didn't really have much choice, so that's why I grabbed the rims with 30mm offset at the rear. At that offset, they leave very minor (cosmetic) marks on the plastic shock cover.

After the AA exhaust I will get the TC Kline wheels. (likely for next year season) I would love to have the Advan RS but they won't come in 18x10.5 (not even 18x10)
By the way OnlineTires.com has cheap BFG-R1 tires!! Even the PS2's are cheaper than on any other site.

Do you guys use wheels studs by any chance?? I just ordered the Turner studs since I am changing wheels too often.

I just ordered the TE 37s from TCKline yesterday. I have had my name on a list for about 2 1/2 months and they just came in. I have been running with VMR 710 18 x 9.5" wheels all around with 275/35 Kumo Ecsta XS tires. I have been very happy with this setup as the front grips much better than with the stock PS2s. I did feel I was getting a lot of understeer with the stock setup. I am an intermediate driver with about 10 track days so my opinion may not mean all that much.

I ordered a set of 18x9.5 TE 37s with an offset of 28. I'm hoping I do not have to use a spacer in the front, but worse case scenario I could use 265 tires and Lucid has documented that works. It seems that there is about a cm+ space left when the wheel is at full lock between the tire and strut, so I may be able to use my 275/35 tires without a spacer in front.

There isn't a lot of choice and these wheels are not available all the time. They had two used sets of 10.5x18" wheels with et30, but there are no 10.5" wheels in the new shipment. The discount for the used wheels is about $150 per wheel. There is a 10x18" wheel, though, in the new shipment.

I'm glad I ordered these as I noticed a crack in my right rear wheel as I was washing today. This with 3 track days and no real incidents. No more cast wheels for 140+ mph track driving for me!

I was just told the Advan RS is indeed coming at 18x10 which would be fine for me. So now I am not so sure about the TC Kline TE37 wheels.
I know the Advan is not forged but lots of people said good things about the Advan.
Plus, I just got an offer on the Forgestar wheels. Very tempting, but I know nothing about them.

Any thoughts on the Advan RS or the Forgestar wheels, highly apreciated!!

wow.. its really hard to find a decent 18inch track wheel in the right sizes for our cars...

its either cheapo ones or 750 dollar TE's

The Forgestar wheels are very tempting. My problem is, I do not know too much about them. No real reviews on line, nothing. Their posted weight is good but with huge offsets. So the actuall weight with low offset will be 1-2 pound higher i guess.
The TC Kline TE37's maybe the best but about $800 more than the Advan RS, plus the Advan has better offset and lighter.

On further insection it is a deep scratch and not a crack in the rim. I don't want to make innacurate statements about a wheel manufacturer's products. I still will feel more comfortable at speed on a quality forged wheel.

I'm running Nitto NT-01 275/35x18's on 9.5" OEM rims on the front and they fit fine. No rubbing.

I'm running a square setup but if I had wider rims, the wider 285 or 295 rears should be no problem at all. I'm running 285/35x18's on rims with an ET25 on the rear for just driving around and they fit fine.

yea.. the wheel i will be using is a et20,,, so i will rub with 295...

the r888 Might could work.. but its to close to go for it..

throwing cost out the window there still isnt a perfect setup for my car.. maby the perreli thats over 500 bucks a tire!..


i duno bout ur car.. toyo r888 and ps cups seemd to have the best sizes..
