Enough vacuum to operate the valve multiple times with the engine off? The reservior seems to really do its job. Very cool.

Thanks for the open valve pics. It does look like it's a straight pipe, but I am not sure.

What is this horizontal piece for?

It looks like it blocks part of the flow.. is this for back pressure? tone?

Ep, Did you paint the rear face of the mufflers as it appears in this pic?

...or is it just the angle of the shot? Man, I want this exhaust!

Looking for ideas?

I don't know what it's for. I think it is used to ensure "pantie drop".

OC, that muffler has not been painted. Just the lighting. I really like the high shine on it, or before mother nature unleashed her fury on my 4.5 hr drive home.

I'd agree. The major blockage in the always open tip and the almost fully open passage in the controlled tip along with the knowledge that both modes are selectable by the customer in your order mean the unit needs to be fairly easily tuneable for volume. These will do that.

Is it me, or does this look super restrictive (Right side)! I suppose flow comes through the holes in the surround - looks to be part of the muffler section. But its interesting how it narrows down there.

Kreissieg has been in the "M" market, as you put it, for a long time. Them making exhausts for BMW M cars is nothing new.

Not to mention a slew of other high-performance vehicles, including exotics.

Cheers,

I thought the same thing when I first saw that. It looks very restrictive.

They very well may have gone a route that produces a desired volume level with a increase in flow restriction and loss in power (compared to stock). THE cool feature of this exhaust is obviously the sound level adjustment. They don't market it as the highest hp gains in either mode, quiet or loud.
