I've had mine for 2 months of daily driving. No CEL so far.

Hey you got any pics/dyno? I'm interested as this thing isn't overpriced like 90% of exhaust products for our cars.

Heres a sound clip and dyno of my setup(Race+X-pipe+200cell cats). Sounds 10x better in person... Going to try and get a better clip later today.

Literally just got home with my RE SSK installed and my AA added to this Fabspeed X-pipe. AA wins for sure... It's loud outside and well not quite quiet inside, but definitely not loud. The sound is much deeper at idle from outside, but immediately changes to more of an exotic high pitch sound once you get on it. Much louder than the Eisenmann Sport.

Hey JO8M3...
How is the x-pipe fitment with the AA system? I have the AA exhaust now and have been looking at a more affordable alt than the AA x-pipe. (I have loved the AA sound since I got it) I am curious as to how this x-pipe is going to change the exhaust note. Are you throwing any CEL's?? |

I don't understand what's wrong with the stock 'X' pipe; it's not pretty, but looks perfectly functional to me. Or is it to eliminate the auxiliary cats, resonators, or whatever the heck those things are at the same time? Then I'd understand. Thx.

I ordered Fabspeed's HFC & X-Pipe w/o resonators last week for mine, I think I'm going to stick with stock muffler and see how she sounds, might be something interesting to hear.

So is everyone having to use a mallet to alter the heat shields around the HFCs?

Yes, in fact I had to crawl under my car the other day just to push the heat shield a bit further from the HFC, because somehow when the car is cold it was just barely vibrating on it under the right throttle position.

Is it on both sides of the HFCs where the heat shield rattles? Is it hard to 'alter' the heat shield?

no, just on the drivers side for me... not sure if everyones fits exactly the same. It's very easy, it's just a soft piece of metal the you can bend very easily with a hammer. You can almost do it with your hands, but a hammer is a bit easier.

Nice DIY, the only thing I've done differently, is I also removed the Skid Plate like you, but did not remove the 'felt' front pieces... I just put the 16mm socket (I believe that's the right size) on a 1/2" ratchet... and put my harm up there, once the 'rear' of the front felt skirt is free, you can put your arm in there, and remove those last two bolts holding the front of the skid plate.
The reason I felt the SkidPlate needed to be removed, was to get to the Front O2 Sensors, and unplug them properly, as well as the bonus room to get to header flange bolts. Very nice write up! Dave
