We do not have an exact date that we are getting more, but feel free to give me a call in about a week or so for an update.

As for the e60, we have angel eyes specifically for your car, by the same manufacturer of these e92 LED's found here: http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=2036

this is good hype. You guys are hooked and are watching this thread closely for pictures. What you get you are getting are a lot of good pics of the lights and finally a picture of the product.
The pics look fantastic. I'll be picking a set up. Seems like a very easy plug and play. I've allways had a good experience when dealing with EAS.

well its good hype till they show a pic of the product
when i found out it was just one LED per side
and that most of the light was blocked off the inner ring to make the 2 rings even
i decided to go another route

i want both rings even, and with a lot of light
for $300 i expected it to be perfect
not just more even that the competition

where did you find out that they block light to the inner ring? i think that this setup looks pretty good, but is a bit pricy. i might just stick with GPs for now...

well the LED is facing the rear of the car
so the light is not hitting the inner ring as much as the other designs out there
and the light of the LED if being reflected into the 2 glass rods for the outer rings
i saw all the pics they posted
looks very even, but still dim
and honestly
its not worth $280 more than my current GP thunders
that's a lot of cash to spend just to get even, but weaker lighting
the daytime pics still leave a lot to be desired

i am trying to get full power to the GP thunders
similar to what camaros is doing but at about 1/5th the cost
so far based on his pics and my testing (just simply running a wire from the positive post in the hood to the bulb)
the best looking option out there is the GP thunder at full power
all the LEDs out there cost a lot
and every few months we get another "greatest LED out there" and we have to fork out another 200-300
my last attempt at LED is i got a set of RD LEDS and will replace the LEDs with 10W LEDS and see how that works
i think bottom line is our headlight design sucks
and no option out there is going to satisfy what we all want;
strong white even light
so at least the GP thunder at full power option is cheap (about $20 for bulbs and around 20-30 for a relay kit)
and in my opinion, looks the best

I share you sentiment. Wasting the light which it seems what this LED kit is doing is not a good solution for LEDs that already have a brightness problem. All of the pics of this system are shown in dark conditions and I can't get over this omission. A cheap way to get full power to GPT's does indeed seem like THE best solution that balances cost, uniformity and brightness. Heck it may not be perfectly even but $300 is not cheap either. Keep us posted on your worthwhile effort.

actually, those are NOT for LCI E60's. the 2008 and newer E60's (LCI) use the same H8 bulb that E92's use. they are no longer compatible with the Angel Eyes that you listed. that's why I'm interested in these.

Correct - LCIs are a bit different, we would have to see the vehicle in person to verify fitment.

GP Thunders, which are nothing more but a tinted bulb - this will not take care of the uneven light on the rings. The AIBs give a whiter light, uniform coverage and produce less heat.

I think you're fighting an uphill battle on modifying the RD pieces, but let's keep the thread on topic here as this is an AiB thread - not RD.

Studio shots - you can really see the time and effort going into CNC machining (5-axis) before the final product is completed.

GP thunders will not take care of even lighting
but they give off a lot more light than the AiB solution
the AiB solution probably gives the most even light
but i think that's its only advantage
even lighting, not brightness
and of course they give off less heat, they don't produce as much light
you're basiclaly diverting all the light to the outer ring
and not giving any direct light to the inner ring

so yeah the GP thunders are not even, but they are bright and cost about $15
AiB is very even, not bright and costs $300

i think menioning RD LEDs is not taking the thread off topic
unless you don't want any comparison to competing products

Let's revisit post #56:

Here's a diagram of the fiber path used in the e92 setup:

The inner lamp will always get a direct shot from the bulb (H8). However, the outer projector will always be weaker due to the travel path needed in the fiber lines to illuminate the ring. This is why the outer rings are always dimmer than the inner.

All the latest and greatest bulbs on the market will not correct this design. This HID kits are interesting as they use a very high color temperature, reducing the lumen output in order to illuminate the rings. Unfortunately - this gives a very blue color, which is not what we're looking for. Also - HIDs run at very high temperatures. These headlamps are by no means cheap to replace.

GP Thunders are nothing other than a tinted bulb, which retains heat. RD units direct lighting to the fiber lines only and don't focus much attention to the inner rings, which gives an unbalanced light pattern.

We've seen everything up to date, there's a reason why we didn't offer any of the previous kits in the past - they simply weren't up to par or something we felt comfortable putting on our own vehicles.

Again, this is a progress thread - not a comparison thread. Let's keep it at that.

Simply wait for a couple of weeks - someone in your area will have a set you can see in person and make a valid judgement.

I'm not really sure why you keep bashing the HID's? I have 6000k HIDs right now and they do not look blue at all. They are very white. I've had them for a few months now and have a lot of use on them, even for extended periods of time and there is no issue at all with the heat they give off. I haven't heard one issue with heat from anyone who owns them. Although they definitely don't light both rings evenly, they are bright enough to give you two fully illuminated, clearly defined rings.

But the even lighting is what is nice about yours. I would love to see some more daytime shots (without the nose of car parked in the shade).

We tried the HID setups about 8-9 months ago and was not satisfied with the results enough to make a driver board or where to place the ballasts without modification to the headlamp to continue with the project. I will admit - it's a much better solution than most other attempts out there.

I don't believe I was bashing HID setups at all, we're just showing specific reasons of why we went the direction we did.

For those attending Bimmerfest - both our M3 and 135 will be on display in the VMR booth.

hmm I didn't have to modify my headlamp housing to install HIDs.

Anyway the product pics you posted look really nice. Is there any plans to make this with a stronger LED? Maybe a 20w if available? It looks like the perfect solution if it's bright enough.

I was referring to ballast placement, unless you were able to tuck them inside the housings. Otherwise, the top needs to be notched slightly for the wires to exit on HID setups.

Of course, we'll try to take advantage of new technology as it is received.
