▀▄ eas - e92 LED Angel Eye progress information

Installed mine today. They look great. Deff not as bright as the hid ones, or even close for that matter but they r deff evenly lit and look very good. The color is very close to stock hids. U can even c them on with the lights on

all you guys bitching about seeing the actual kit need the chill the F out. Really does it matter what the actual product looks like if the results are what you want and EAS stands behind what they sell.

Its not like EAS is telling you blindly to buy a product they haven't shown on several cars. They have even offered to install it for free so that the results come out good instead of you burning your electrical system.

Like any retailer/manufacturer, they don't want to hastily release product photos without proper preparation. Would BMW put or announce a new car on their website with photos taken with a F-ing iphone???

J08M3 -- How hard is it to snap a pic and post it? Why's it always coming soon? If these work as marketed I'll probably be buying a set. But something is awfully suspicious about avoiding the product pics.

It is suspicious cause clearly they have a camera with all the car shots that keep getting added.

yes when you are forking over $300 for yet another "greatest LED out there"
we've heard that before

they didn't have such a hard time taking multiple shots of the installed LEDS
and they took them from several angles, heights, cars, inside a garage and outside.
so i assume they own a good camera, since those shots looked very good


and the other comment wasn't asinine
you don't think its smart to take some shots BEFORE you advertise a product?
unless you are just trying to create hype
and what better way to create hype for something
when it still remains a mystery

Since we're feeling a bit photogenic today, here's a teaser of what's coming:

No HIDs, or error codes and 100% Plug and Play.

The subject of the post is "progress information" and EAS's first post clearly states that it is a teaser.

So everyone calm down and let they get a chance to take proper product photos. As far as what they have posted, its good enough for those that can spend "$300" from what we have seen

If the $300 price is solely based on materials + covering R&D costs + profit...

Is it safe to assume that when you break even on your R&D cost you will lower the price accordingly while maintaining profitability per unit?

Ill let EAS handle this but I am only assuming the answer is...NO.

I say this because I am interested in their smarTOP option for the E93, for those who dont know what it does: It allows you to be able to drive up to 20-25mph while opening/closing the roof, and it also makes the roof button 1 touch open/close instead of having to hold it the entire time. LASTLY, it gives those E93 owners without comfort access to be able to open/close their roof from their BMW key fob. Which is a great feature to have and worth every penny for those who didnt pay $500 for Comfort access. MY issue is, my E93 has comfort access and therefore their $350+ price tag for this smarTOP unite is a little much. I have been in contact with EAS, and asked if the price would drop eventually and they said they have no plans to lower the price of the unit because they sell well

Alright guys ... here are the pics.

They seem to be extremely well made with quality aluminum parts. The kit did not come with install instructions and since I don't have my car yet I can't tell if they are unnecessary or not but if the guys at EAS could help with that I would appreciate it.

I am not sure how these compare with other products on the market since I haven't seen them but again they seem to be very well made at least.

Interesting, so they are shining the LED backwards to decrease the light getting to the inner rings. Pretty smart.

Makes sense. After the last pic posted by EAS I was thinking they were somehow blocking the light to the inner ring. You can see how the outer ring is lit almost like the stock outer ring, but the stock inner ring is blurry looking cause it's too bright in that pic and the LED one looks like the outer ones. I wish I could see how bright it was in person. Cool idea if it's bright enough.

nice pics! The way these are installed is as follows:

1: plug in LED bulb into light socket in headlight

2: push red and black wire through center hole in heatsink, then attach heatsink to bulb, then tighten screw to secure

3: plug red and black wire into ballast, plug OEM connector into ballast

done

i see lots of potential to mod this
Add 2 LEDS on either side that light the glass tubes
and one LED on top to light the inner ring

but i guess that's one way of getting even lighting
block most of the light going to inner ring

IMHO i would not pay $300 for these
but to each his own
they certainly look well made
and i'm sure machining those heatsinks, bulb holders was not cheap

these took about 10 mins to install... its so easy and ive never switched a bulb before .

it looks like there are mounting points for the ballast. where does the ballast mount to?

also, I was hoping these would work on my LCI E60, but after seeing the heatsinks that were made for the E92, I'm kind of worried.
