sounds like a good deal
I think this would be a good deal for someone who bought a coupe and realizes its not a great family car. Circumstances change and people require different cars soon after they made their purchase....The sedan which is up for trade sounds like a car with attractive options and a good color combination. I would expect this to be a proposition that at least a few members would be interested in if they now want a sedan. Of course, the exchange of money would be totally dependant on the coupe's miles, options, model year, etc, etc....

I got the MoonRoof and it didn't change the price of my M, when you build your car and it says the moonroof option there is a 0$ in the right column, not a -2500$ . Good Luck getting a coupe though

Actually Buddy you are wrong. If what you say has any logic to it then how do you explain this : E90 335 Starting Price : 40,300$ E92 335 Starting Price : 42,200$ And the E92's Msrp is 1900$ More then the E90 because of what? Carbon Fiber roof right???? lol Coupe's are always more Expensive then they're 4 door siblings. Not only Bmw's but every brand. |

Thanks man, appreciate it.

On the sedan (such as mine), the Moonroof is an "extra" $1100.

On the 335i: Coupe gets fold down rear seats standard a $500 option on the sedan. The coupe gets sport suspension $700 Coupe gets a better exhaust, or at least the upgrade to exhaust on the coupe is $500 cheaper than on the sedan. I'm pretty sure the wheels are upgraded on the coupe as well. If all this is true, it adds up to at least $2k....or close enough to see why there's a $2k difference in the 2 cars. It's ALL in the fine print, "buddy."

Someone is REALLY gonna have to have a hardon for your sedan in order to give up their coupe for it.
Of all the M3's available right now the E90 with 6MT is the least desireable , not that I am hating on the M3. Its just a fact. I think if you find someone willing to trade you will have to pony up a few g in addition to the car |

When I bought the sedan I thought it would be my daily driver and only car. Now that I have the Jeep, I decided I want more of a dedicated sports car.

I mean the point is not cf roof or not, but starting price of coupe is 58k and sedan is 55k. So why would anyone trade their coupe which is better looking, more dedicated sport car, better weight distrubution. Not only that, bmw offer more discount on the sedan. I heard somewhere that sedan get like 4-5k discount before. Coupe sold at msrp or more. |

Anyway, I won't kick in any more than the actual price difference for the cars. If it doesn't happen, no biggie.

dont care about the moonroof ....love the CF roof.....
and the sedan looks like a 325i with some M3 exhaust from the back...I DO NOT like the way it looks.....I love the way the coupe looks, its beautiful...ya, it resembles the 335i coupe but I think that the 335i looks pretty hot too.... |

This thread totally lost topic, Did you ever try contacting the dealer on a trade in? you might lose the same amount of money as trading someone and forking over some cash to them. Just a thought.

Anyway, I'm not about to lose a "ton" of money by doing a "lateral" move. This isn't an upgrade. You'd think by the responses I'm getting that Im moving from a M3 to a new M6, or 911 GT3. It's really f#$%ing simple. If anyone has an M3 Coupe that needs an M3 sedan and it's an even playing field, we'll switch 'em. For example, if "everything" is the same on the cars exactly, but I have the hi-fi audio ($2k) and they don't, it's an even swap. If everything is EXACTLY the same (my MR vs their CF roof), I'd be willing to kick over a G or so. I could care the F less what all these people think about how much better a Coupe looks. In this thread, opinions are truly like assholes!! I think this thread shows you how marketing works on some idiots. They throw in a CF roof, and up against a moonroof it's literally $1400 differnence on a $70 THOUSAND dollar car, and these DB's would jump out of a 20 story window to get it over a sedan.

It was a 2001 911 Turbo with 27k miles, not an S. It had a year of certified warranty left. I wanted to get up out of it before it had no warranty. I got a great price on the Turbo and like the M3 way more.
