2009 M3 Warning on Car
What????? Found on inside of windshield on an M3:
"Installation and operation of non-BMW approved accessories such as alarms, radios, amplifiers, radar detectors, tires, wheels, suspension components, brake dust shields, telephones (including operation of any portable cellular phone from within the vehicle without using an externally mounted antenna) or transceiver equipment (eg, C.B., walkie-talkie, ham radio or similar) may cause extensive damage to the vehicle, compromise its safety, interfere with the vehicle's electrical system or affect the validity of the BMW Limited Warranty. I had never heard of these very serious potential M3 constraints or is it just legal rhetoric by the BMW lawyers for CYA purposes

WTF. This is beginning to read like the GTR manual. It says "may" rather than "does" though, so that makes me think it is just legal jargon more than anything else.

Yeah. Mine has it, too. Even worse it's glued on. So you have to work to peel it off, then use acetone or some other solvent to clean off the goo.

Nothing new. Always been like this AFAIK. Most cars have this sort of thing in the manual. The E46 M3 had verbiage similar IIRC. It's a lawyer thing.

I guess I didn't read mine carefully then. I was in a rush to take it off.

Brake dust shields? They don't mention exhaust or ECU mods, but go out of their way to mention brake dust shields. I mean they might as well put floor mats, seat covers, and fuzzy dice on their too.

Yes, it's merely corporate legalese CMA (or should that be Cover Their Collective Arses, CTCA).
