SLP San Luis Potosí Plant & Production Line - Deep Dive Tour

Tried to dig through search to make sure this isn't a repost (apologies if it is), but I managed to dig up a pretty decent deep dive on the line itself that was released a few months ago. It's all in Spanish but the auto translation works well enough to understand what's going on. Very impressive facility and quality control; looks almost like the factories in Germany with some subtle differences.

yeah BMW spent like 3 billion on the plant and shipped over German executives to oversee it. Have heard nothing but good things about the quality it's producing. Haven't noticed any difference between my G87 and the G90 I moved into afterward.

Thanks for sharing, I've been curious about the SLP plant quality compared to Germany. Seems like they're doing solid work.

BMW, a multi-billion dollar corporation which produces millions of cars globally each year will never lower its standards or jeopardize its reputation. Never doubted for a second that SLP would adhere to these same rigorous and QA as the rest of their factories.

Had some broccoli-headed kid in a B5 Audi make the same kind of comment about my 340 at a local Cars & Coffee the other day. I just ignored him. There will always be people in the car community who get completely eaten up and holier-than-thou over some imaginary molehill made entirely of bull$hit.

If one actually believes that - never eat at any restaurant in NYC. Doesn't matter what kind of food it is, the line cooks are going to be from anywhere south of Texas.

My M2 has been great, no delivery issues apart from some wonky toe settings which were corrected in alignment

The only “quality control” thing that bothered me was the gap between the headlight and front bumper where the light curves. But after seeing a bunch of M2s with same thing it made it clear its a design flaw.

My 2026 m240i is built just splendidly. No issues at all.

Seems like the "Mexico plant bad" is just fake hysterics.
