Of all the intakes available for our cars, would you say Infinity Design is the highest quality? In terms of build quality, fitment, etc...

versus Turner, AFE, etc.

The price certainly would indicate this, plus I think it looks the best.

IMO, aside from race-only designs, the ID intake is best looking design by-far with a most unique form factor.

Prior to purchase, probed forums/internet and found no notable ID quality issues. ID has a larger footprint, volume in S85s and subsequent M gens.
My installed, use experience - - so-far after ~9 mos, ~1200 mls fitment was/is spot-on, no quality issues, no CF blemishes. Since then, removed/re-installed twice for other maintenance access with no problems or apparent issues [ie cracks, delam, etc].

As noted in reviews, no question ID intake provides a noticeable bump in performance along with a very cool 'induction growl'...even with OE plenum. Also, appreciate design retains 'closed system' air intake similar to OE intent. Only downside thus far, requires a bespoke $90 reusable oiled air filter only available through ID.

From a price standpoint, intake positioned competitively; not the highest or 'cheapest'.

Overall, may take

I have ID intake matte finish had installed March driven maybe 300 miles since ( weekend car) , looks great, better imo then just getting carbon elbow and lid, looks wise it’s unique
Cost it’s the same if not less then getting those two items from eVenturi
Got mine from xph around holidays was almost 30% off shipped
Plus you get the filter housing / box ( not sure the words to use) in carbon , don’t get that with just buying a carbon lid
Feels more peppy but the main draw is the sound , I don’t have a carbon plenum yet but just this much more induction noise
Can clean the filter with the k&n kit I did asked ID before I bought it

From Infinity Designs FB, so everyone can see the final version, how the stacks secure to the plenum, I recall this thread and some others were debating glue vs nuts vs everyday things come apart.

Screws secure from bottom up through the machines plates into the trumpet. If I understand correctly the throttle body boot should further support the fastener, they put a lot of thought into this to avoid the eventuri issues with things … undoing themselves on some units.

I would agree for the price you won’t get an intake that was made with form following function like the ID intake.
I’ve had it on and off for maintenance, no issues. Noise is excellent, looking forward to pairing with ID plenum with oversides trumpets.

Question

Help Needed - CF Airbox Lid Replacement Screw
Discovered one airbox lid screws backed-out & lost... ugh!
Unable to find an ID spec on-line. Sent email request to ID; no response to-date.
AI probe inconclusive...best 'guess' finding:
Fastener |Recommendation
Thread M5 x 0.8
Length 14 mm
Material Stainless A2-70 or black oxide steel
Head Button-head socket cap preferred
Washer M5 stainless flat washer
They're tiny lil bastards...any one know screw spec?

Perfect...many thanks!

FYI - Preventative Measure
After some probing a consideration going forward...Vibra-TITE 213 VC-3 Threadmate Threadlocker is compatible for CF fastening.

Mine arrived. Damn... looks more like a wall art piece than something to hide in an engine bay lol.

Intake is also huge. I have an Eventuri intake currently, and this filter is twice as big!

Will only be getting it installed next Friday. For now I'll just enjoy looking at it...

Just under a month. Ordered end of May, received before end of June. But I guess that was still part of the first production / pre-order batch, so might be quicker now that it's in production.

FYI/Update Airbox Lid Screws - Alternative Source
Ordered, installed from an alternative source...you guessed it China
Added a dab of Vibra-TITE 213 VC-3 Threadmate Threadlocker.
  • Fitment perfect [ie thread pitch]
  • Quality satisfactory
  • Total cost ~50% < McMaster
Occasionally been accused of "sweatin' da small stuff"...this time guilty as charged

Well fellas, I finally got around to installing my new plenum! I was one of the early pre-orders back in February. It originally arrived around May 26th, but FedEx handled it rough and left a small crack on the lower bottom entry section.Huge props to Salman at Infinity Design—he quickly shipped out a replacement bottom piece that arrived yesterday, so I knocked out the install today. Just a heads-up to be careful when handling it, as the carbon is thin and fragile.

Installation Notes:
  • Time: 45–60 minutes total to pull the OEM unit and get the Infinity Design plenum on.

Sensor Fitment:
  • The front side sensor has a plastic locking clip that cannot be transferred over. The OEM bracket has a circular ledge that the Infinity Design bracket lacks. Hopefully, it holds up fine without it!

Overall, it looks absolutely sexy. I specifically chose Infinity Design because I think the aesthetics beat out Eventuri (installation of Infinity Design bit more complex and time consuming, because I did install Eventuri Plenum and intake on friends car myself)

Everything is bolted down tight, but it got too late to fire it up tonight. I’m driving it tomorrow and doing a back-to-back comparison with a buddy's car who runs the full Eventuri plenum and intake. Stay tuned!

See the pictures!!!

i purchased a V2 from Carbon klasse, they mentioned the original itb horns would do better on my car than the second gen ones.

I'm eager to see how this does with independent dyno testing. only thing keeping me from grabbing this one is the way the top looks. I want a smooth top like Haimus or CK

I’m really enjoying this design, though I’m not a fan of the smooth top—it’s just a matter of personal preference!

For an alternative "smooth top" design comparison - - Partee Racing CF plenum mated to ID CF intake.
Appearance somewhat unique to that of several AM 'OE look alike' designs.
DIY V2 stacks update in the works to upgrade for more, improved performance gains.
> Quality - Robust CF body & connections [zero plastics]
> Fitment and performance all spot-on
