Snuck out in between the weather craziness in the Midwest to check out the new suspension setup. Oh my. Car felt good before but now the steering just feels telepathic. Car is a lot more neutral, turn in is instant, and having run the ista bleed procedure just before going I think I improved my brake life too (not panic bracking because of spongy petal == more intentional threshold braking and earlier release == less braking overall)
Only problem is I’m rubbing the tires. It’s one part fender (though that seems minor) and one part arch liner. Gotta decide if I should give up on the 18x11s and drop back down to 10.5 with a 275 tire.

offset are just bad on those 18x11 up front, just run a 8mm spacer instead of 15mm.
rear can be left alone but a 3mm or 5mm would be nice. assuming its 18x11 ET30 sq.

That’s basically the same as et30 w 15mm spacer, isn’t it? That clears. Et30 w 8mm spacer is another 7mm inboard.

I suggest removing the inner fender liner and add maybe a smidge more negative camber, then reset the toe. Since you have coil overs there's also a ride height adjustment possibility.

I might shave that bit down to start. Don’t love the idea of it being completely gone.

18x10.5 ET15 SQ 295/30/18 18x10.5 ET12 SQ 285/30/18 (current daily setup on ECS02) 18x11 ET44 w/ 25mm spacer ET19 SQ 295/30/18 The 18x11 requires some finessing, a lot more camber, and suspension adjustment. Definitely say bye to your fender liners (maybe). DEFINITELY doable; it just depends on how badly you want to get there, lol. ET19 and ET15 are similar, yes; it's 4 mm less poke and 4 mm less inset. Although, correct me on this, isn't the TrackAttack Pro pretty wide? Or was it narrow? I think I recall a 285 TAP being the same width as a 275 RE17RS lol.

18x10.5 ET15 should be equivalent to 18x11 ET 27, right? interesting that that clears for you. i need to re-check if my issue is the tire/perch or the wheel/strut. what suspension setup do you have? and TAPs actually run narrower than bridgestones. the 295 TAP is (according to tire rack) a hair wider than a 285 RE71RS. I have a set of those 285s sitting on a shelf, i might just throw those on next.

Oh sweet, I have Jerez E90M single hump shenanigan deniability!
I just moved to chicagoland from STL last year, my first track time in the car up here is going to be this: https://www.scca.com/events/2009155-...ga-great-lakes Blackhawk, Grattan, Gingerman, Autobahn in 4 days, kindof a mini one-lap, one lap of the part of america by the southern tip of lake michigan lol Thanks for posting the blackhawk video. DCT 3rd gear is shorter so looks like I might have to be in 2nd a couple times there with lower apex speeds (no aero, road-oriented suspension and 3650 with driver). Otherwise the track looks about the same as it was last time I was there in the SRF (a blast) Because of the aforementioned street-friendly suspension I don't have near enough clearance up front so I'm running 295/30 rear and 265/35 front and with a little tuning (you have plenty of knobs to turn!) you can get the understeer out of a setup like that. I don't think a 265 or 275 on an 11 would be appreciably less grippy than a 295 on an 11 and might give you a little bit more information through the wheel, I've used 295/30 up front in the past (though not on an 11) and it was a little vague-feeling

You've got a PM. That sounds perfect for what I need to do with the car to shake it down and do some pad testing

omgzirra_exe Are you on stock or adjustable front lower control arms? That could be the difference. Slam the camber plates as inboard as you can. You will likely have to remove the coilover or at least drop it down to do this. That should get the top of the wheel inboard and hopefully not rub the fender as much if that's where it's hitting. If its the back of liner, yeah that's just a thing you have to deal with. Mine have been destroyed there. The pinch weld there is what's hurting the tire. Hammer that thing flat. |

For now, I shaved down the frame rail a little and the rubbing is now manageable.

i maxed out my negative camber on the top hat, and added camber from the lower camber arm. i have some fender liners missing (just the front panel on front fenders), an I'm pretty sure i rubbed my rear for clearance over time lol, just make sure you're not rubbing the fuel filler neck.

aaaand that's all she wrote folks. after investing another ~10k in new suspension bits and getting to drive it on track once, i got an offer on it that made sense and decided to jump on it. the structural reason i wanted to sell it in the first place never went away -- I live in the middle of Chicago, and have no place for a trailer. The absolute best setup I could land on was storing the trailer ~15 minutes away, which still meant that after a full day at the track, i'd have to come home, unload the car right away, drive 15 minutes to drop off the trailer, then drive another 15 minutes back which all told added an hour at the end of the day. so it's a little bittersweet, but the car went to a good home and it's awesome to see it actually raced (and know that I built a real mfing racecar!): https://www.facebook.com/share/1CxNr...ibextid=wwXIfr https://www.youtube.com/live/gSnY1BZLjvY I haven't been to VIR so don't know what's good over there, but new owner said they ran a 2:08 on RS4s which seems fast based on our collection on the site. I don't know that I'll stay away for long though, I still love the platform. In the meantime, I'm burning cash with a drive-to-the-track setup in my GTS so I'll see y'all out there!
