The key to an exotic higher pitch exhaust note: Double forward X pipe

OP has front located double x but rear double gives no high pitch, little bit cleaner sound and nice decelerating sound. Can't understand choke, engine pulls very healthy to redline:

For those seeking exhaust tuning, this HPA interview with BIY is worth a listen. For those unaware, these two ford engineers converted a Ford truck DOHC 2-valve V10 into 6.8L 8000rpm V10 40 Valve in their garage. It's a wild feat of custom engineering and fabrication. Anyhow, they explore trying to recreate the LFA sound (front engine rear exhaust) at 500 hertz via custom designed headers, xpipe, and exhaust. As always Andre delivers!

That is the exact situation I am in. I bought the exact system directly from CEES that OP showed in this video of his:

Behind the insane annoying rasp and loudness, I can hear that high pitch ever so slightly. I will try to wield on some 300 CPSI cats to see if it will help.

The rasp is so bad that I assumed there were massive exhaust leaks or something. But a separate exhaust shop verified no exhaust leaks or the exhaust touching anything it shouldn't on the frame/heat shields. Super disappointed ngl.

If anyone has any advice feel free to share lol.

Can you send me exhaust clips of current setup? I was thinking of going 200 cell cats that CEES sells them with. Basically mimicking another YouTubers setup from a different (Chinese) brand. I hope the rasp isn’t a problem with this setup.

That sounds great. A lot of sound with the top down. With my E90 I am running an Eisenmann Race muffler and a bomiz catless xpipe (4 resonators) and it sounds close to stock while cruising. Not a lot of bark when getting on the go pedal. I am looking for a little more oomph in sound. This might be it.

If you already have the catless bomiz x pipe, then you probably can save money and only change out the muffler for a valved one. So that when valve is open, there is no muffling. Even a stainless steel valved muffler might be enough to make a difference for you for like $400.

But I'm no expert on this stuff lol

I appreciate the feedback! I’m just about to start my search for a new muffler. The ER has maybe 2k miles on it. I also have a bomiz x pipe with 2 cats & 2 resonators including the factory mid section in the garage. That way I can bounce between various tones.
I think you’re right. That might be the move.

That sounds really good! I do think 200 or even 300 cell cats will tone it down just a bit which would make it sound a little more exotic. If you happen to do either one of those please post an update! Would love to hear it.
