Partee YouTube

I was watching a video from Partee talking about the s65 and s62 engine building. Half way through it he starts talking about, what I swear sounds like, m539 restoration and how he improperly did the cylinder wall honing and how his engine 10k kms later was loosing cylinder sealing.
Can someone watch it and confirm what I think I heard!
Just go on YT and search Partee S62 Rebuild.

Yes this is known and has been discussed. Unfortunately throws H2 kinda under the bus indirectly but if they muffed the hone and finish it is what it is. There is video evidence of them doing it.

No. Radio silence about it. Probably pm Chris about it? I’m sure Sreten doesn’t want to talk about it in public. Unfortunate that the engine let go as I found some other YouTuber had borrowed the car and was singing its praises before the engine went. Heel and Toe channel I think it was. The guys is a big fan of NA BMW M cars.

🤦🏻‍♂️ what exactly went wrong? Was it the hone, pistons, cams, RBs, MBs, Valvetrain or Tune?
It was such a great YT series on a “successful” rebuild?

M539! Please chime in and let your fans know that your dream car rebuild is doing just fine and ripping it up somewhere on the Nürburgring!

Something Partee said that was false…M539’s M3 was torn apart due to bad cylinder walls at less than 10k kms.
First start up was at 85k kms.
Heel and Toe YTer tested it a year ago at 250k kms. He also said he drove it himself 7k kms.
Is Partee a total 🐂 shitter?

Good to know the results of a rebuild series that a lot of people have followed and learned from on an engine in our cars!

sounded more like he was picking something with partee with that comment.

Despite Chris and Partee him self being open about the process.

I get Charlie is rebuilding or was rebuilding his own S65 and had made lot of his own threads with questions regarding it.

ex. the previous one he made was about sleeves.

I’m not picking anything with Partee. I found out about them thru trying to learn more about our engine.
I’m actually going to order their Bed Plate Sealant Tool!
I’m just hoping what he said about m539’s s65 rebuild is not true. Sorry if my concern came off as offensive.

It didn't, some delicate snowflakes around here that can't read between the lines...

My understanding is the S62 H2 built for Sreten is what had the issues and that is what Partee built for him. As far as I know, the S65 is still running but not much has been mentioned about either which is frustrating! Dude seems to be building his brand more than building cool BMWs lately.

Honestly, when I posted about it back then, I was unaware that it wasn’t public knowledge. I was a bit surprised by everyone’s response, and asked El Jeffe what the deal was. Honestly , IMO I said too much then- neither Peter or Sreten told me so, but it’s not my story to tell & I wouldn’t have mentioned it then had I known he hadn’t shared anything about the issue yet. Theres a reason the one time a camera crew was around my unit, my platoon sergeant made me leave, I lack a filter lol.

To close my role in this discussion:
-All of our previous statements are true.
-I am not sure what was done to keep that car on the road, but I do know that motor is not (or at least was not) in the car as I have seen screenshots of the bore from a total seal surface system microscope where cross hatching was still visible.
- As far as I am aware, Sreten is still trying to work the issue out amicably with the shop which did the work To my knowledge, he has gotten significant pushback about whose fault the issue is.

To be absolutely certain we are all on the same page here, I am intentionally being vague. I’ll not discuss this any further, if you are a fan/supporter of Sreten, discretion is the best thing you can do for him while he tries to navigate the issue. The only reason I am commenting here at all is to settle the theories and own my initial misstep.

We are going to work with him to build him an S65 for that car that will actually last. He may be one of the first people to get my new oil pump.

If another shop has something to say about our methods, however, we’re happy to have that discussion as we believe our processes are unimpeachable and if another shop does prove to us that we’re missing the mark, that’s a win/win. This isn’t about ego for us. It’s about precision and rigor.

Why would you think another shop has something to say about your methods?

This conversation has our organization’s name in the title and is on the topic of another shop’s work. All based on comments about Sreten’s situation. We have never named the shop responsible and will not.

I said that I am done talking about them, and finished my response by saying “if another shop thinks they know better, then we are happy to have that conversation.” Albeit in less explicit phrasing.

So, I’m not sure how you came to the conclusion that I think another shop actually has anything to say from an “If:then” statement. Prefacing a statement with “If” implies the necessity of a true/false condition of outside influences, not necessarily a belief that a condition is true.

Either he's fishing for more information, or he's reading your comments through the lens of already being skeptical of you guys.

It kind of goes back to my original impression from when he opened the thread by asking if Partee was a bullshitter. You made a pretty straightforward conditional statement about being open to criticism, and somehow he interpreted it as evidence that another shop was actively criticizing your methods.
