I like how when you navigated away from the app before and came back to it it took you to where you last were. Now it takes you to the Bimmerpost front page.

Some other apps have a feature like a pop-up or something at the bottom of the page that shows you where you last were or that you can click on that takes you back to where you left off.

Edit: just noticing, it doesn’t take you to the front page all the time.

apptest appears to be an HTML encoding mismatch between this news item’s title in the news feed vs the thread itself once you click into it.

apptest on iPhone, it seems with almost if not every update to the app, I am forced to sign back into the app. The latest occurred from 7.1.0 to 7.1.1

Are you not able to use secured, persistent app local storage for retaining the authentication refresh token(?) - if it’s using OAuth or similar.

Login issues appear to be fixed on 7.1.4 but it requires a wiping of any old data (which the app will do by itself). With 7.1.4 you will have to login again. After that hopefully not again. After 7.1.4 im not going to wipe credentials anymore so you should get onto 7.1.4 asap so you get the fix on board otherwise future updates might be a headache for you down the line

Correction - did not realize I updated to 7.1.4 (vs 7.1.1) when I checked this last. So it’s an issue on the latest. Thanks

You mean after the app installed and you did a mandatory re-login. It asked you to login again ( a second time?). You would be the only report of it not working so I want to be 100% sure

I am not seeing any glaring issues with 7.1.4, it’s been very stable.

apptest I only had to login once when I updated from 7.1.0 to 7.1.4

I was clarifying that I thought when I updated from 7.1.0 that I was updating to 7.1.1 and foolishly assumed that was the latest - based on someone else’s recent post in this thread.

Yes this will unfortunately continue for a while, I think its because of a mismatch between the old forums and the new beta forums/app. The app and the new beta forums are on the same system so they have to synchronize with the old system. The old one is a mess in this department so a notification from one place or another can throw off the count. if you don’t see any actual items listed, then its just the count that’s off. I think just hitting delete to clear it out will reset it, but that’s what we have for the time being

The new functionality in the DM area of the app is… frustrating to use.

If the new conversation mode could either be turned off, or actually have an action / context menu next to each post, so that we could actually reply to and quote a previous message in the conversation (heck, can’t even quote the most recent message anymore) that would be great.

No worries all the asks are fine and I welcome them, but no one should expect them to be fulfilled. In this case we are are not going back from the conversation mode. I know the ask is now to atleast allow quoting. I am going to for sure re think this and there is sine chance it would come back, we shall see. Right now it is available on the desktop site and missing from the app as I am collecting days to make a final decision on which way to go. But for the time being think of it like a text message, you don’t really quote them (although you can directly reply to specific messages which I think is the root of the ask). So I’ve not that the ask is right or wrong. It just needs more data to come to a final decision. To be seen … 😀

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Yes, at minimum the ability to respond to or delete a specific message would be nice.

I may be misrecalling the previous behavior but I thought being able to quote a previous message was there in the pre conversation mode in the app. It was helpful to be able to contextually respond to numerous point a DM may have made.

Notably, it doesn’t crash immediately. There’s enough time for me to read the first couple sentences — sometimes the whole first paragraph — of the initial post before the app crashes. Yet it does crash every time.

Yes unfortunately it's an issue specific to the mini due to it having a bit less ram then other phones so those threads with just a monstrous amount of pics will crash. I try to tune it from time to time to get it to work but lowering the pic quality but I dont want to go too overboard as it ruins the experience for too many people. Wish they would update the mini for more ram TBH

Ah, I didn’t realize it was one of those monster photo-heavy threads (it crashed before I could scroll to see all the photos ).
