Help diagnose 2B07 and P2138 codes

Please help me diagnose these codes (they're probably the same code from different scanners). I've searched and searched and there's no info on them for E9x.

08 E90 M3 w/ 55k.

Got a CEL immediately after starting the car with a "Reduced Power" warning. The car is in limp mode.

Scanned with a generic OBD2 scanner
P2138 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch D/E Voltage Correlation

Scanned with a BPM Sport scanner and got
2B07 - Pedal value sensor plausibility
279D - Power management battery closed-circuit current violation
2796 - Motor emergency program activated
I suspect that 2B07 is the root cause of the other codes.

Tried clearing codes and they return immediately. After several days they went away (the car drove normally) then came back a day later.

For other cars, P2138 implies a TPS fault.
For the E9x, I'm guessing that it's either the gas pedal itself or the throttle actuators...currently leaning toward the former.

Any ideas?

Replace the gas pedal potentiometer, it's part of the gas pedal assembly/module. There are two sensors in that unit for redundancy and if they aren't reading the same +/- a predefined threshold it will trigger limp mode and throw that fault.

279D is not related, but 2796 is as a result of the faulty component. Replace that and you'll be good to go.

Thanks Mike. The gas pedal was definitely it. I took it out, cleaned the connectors with compressed air and it's been fine for a few days...maybe just a contact problem. If it comes back I'll change the potentiometer or gas pedal (I've only seen full gas pedal assemblies for sale).

Benvo -- Any thoughts on this as it relates to "2B06"? Car is showing both 2B06 and "2B07".

Car is suffering similar issues to OP (limp mode and 2796) even after replacing the gas pedal.

when replacing the pedal, do it need something else to be performed at bmw insta?

Having the same issues. Replaced TA’s, whole gas pedal assembly, and my alternator
