Dallas/Ft. Worth BMW Meet Saturday 9/6/08

Alright I've done some recon and found some good spots for daytime photo shoot, dinner, and a night shoot spot.

First, at 6:30PM meet up in the parking lot at Half Price Books off Northwest Highway and Shady Brook Lane near 75 (5803 E Northwest Hwy in Dallas for Nav people) to ride to a spot I found at White Rock Lake. Try and be there by 6:30 so we can get going quickly and have enough time to get some good shots. For those coming to get some daytime photos, we'll wrap things up by 7:45 so we can get over to dinner.

Next, we'll meet at Keller's Drive-In at 8 for a burger. Keller's is at 6537 E Northwest Hwy in Dallas. I went to talk to the people over there and as it turns out, they have a car show going on there Saturday night. They do it every Saturday night apparently. They have a huge parking lot including some covered spots. As for this "car show," I personally have no idea what kind of thing this is but I google'd it and AOL CityGuide said it's 50's hotrods. I just hope no rice!

Last, after we are all ready to take some pics at night, we'll cruise over to the platinum garage at American Airlines Center. On top of the garage is a really nice skyline backdrop. If you've ever parked in the platinum garage, you'll probably know what I'm talking about. I'm still waiting on a callback from the AAC to make sure it's ok so be sure to check this thread occasionally in case we have to make a change. I have a backup plan already figured out.

I hope everyone can make it out. Weather looks almost perfect at a balmy 90 Should be a good time! And yes addy, we'll wait for you.

oh, and i've got some pictures of the daytime location. they're off my blackberry so sorry about the quality. there is a large circle driveway up here with enough room to fit a bunch of cars in for a group shot. downtown dallas is in the background.

I live about 2hrs away, the wife just wonders if it is okay if she comes along. She is not the type that gets mad about speeding or anything she is German so she knows all about speed.

in other news, i got a callback from american airlines center and it sounds like its a go. the only thing we can't do there is take pictures of our cars in front of the american airlines center because of their sponsors, etc. blahblah legal stuff. i'm waiting on one more callback from the guy at AAC but i don't see why we can't. everyone must be on their best behavior in that garage as i think its a pretty big deal that they're actually letting us use it. as for anywhere in between, thats strictly up to johnny law

Oh and Keller's is usally full of old school muscle and hotrods. I have never seen rice there.
