How's stage 2 coming?

I know it's been asked endlessly, but the last update sounded like we were nearly there.

Whenever someone asks it gets delayed another year.

It’s available for 6MT owners and will be available to DCT owners once validation is completed - probably a month or two for DCT. Please feel free to email, message, or text me.

My mother in law had a stroke in January and a massive heart attack 3 weeks ago. Not to mention other serious issues I’ve had to deal with. Unfortunately in 2025 I haven’t had an opportunity to enjoy popcorn but am thrilled that you are.

Comments like these remind me of why I am rarely on here anymore.

If you have a Harrop kit and are looking for Stage II, send me a PM and I’ll get in contact with you.

There will be two levels, one at ~8PSI requiring 93 Octane minimum, and one at 10PSI.

Allow a week or so for me to reply once your message is sent. Thanks

Will this be advertised as a standalone kit and as an upgrade path for stage I customers?

Also, with the 10psi setup, is that for ethanol only?

It will only be offered to existing customers at this time, as there are only two kits built and available. We want to get more people out there with S2 before offering a standalone kit.

The highest boost setup (which also makes sense for those in higher elevations as it will be in the 8ish range) will require higher octane fuel. This is the setup on my car and I will usually mix in 100 octane with the lovely 91 we have here in CA. Keeping the setup gasoline allows the stock fuel pump to stay in place. We do also recommend a do88 oil cooler for S2 setups.

There are some people that got S2 at the end of 2023, and some in 2024 - I’ve always asked them to not post about it, but I’ll see if I can reach out and if they would be willing to share their thoughts on it.

So sorry to hear about all your challenges this year. All the best Mike! Cannot thank you more for all the support you have brought this platform over the years, especially with this amazing supercharger. Absolutely loving mine. We recently installed a CF DS in my E90, and I am excited to see how it goes with Stage 2!

I had some craziness over the year myself and almost pulled the trigger, but will definitely be reaching out to you in the mid part of the year. Thanks again.

Also looking forward to hearing from others’ experiences with higher boost!

My time to shine! Hi guys, I have just received and had an S2 kit installed on my DCT car. I have only had my car for about 90 days total and I knew the second I purchased it that I would end up with a harrop on it. I have known Mike for 7+ years and knew that texting him and telling him my car was too slow was bound to happen.

My initial impressions:

1- holy shit. WOW.
2- the noise. It is intoxicating. The whine is unlike anything I have ever heard.
3- the power is absurd. I live at altitude ( CO Springs), and even still the power is insane. It feels endless; power delivery is excellent. My car is FAST.
4- The support from Mike during purchase/install/tuning was top notch. 10/10. I had my kit in a few days from purchasing it and he had my tune ready to go once install was under way. He went above and beyond from start to finish. He is the best in the business and is one biggest reasons I went with the Harrop. Everyone knows the Harrop is not the cheapest supercharger option and I am happy to report that a Harrop/Mike/BPM combo is one of the few times you get exactly what you pay for- the best of the best.

DCT: I was a little worried that the car would be kind of boring with a DCT but I was so wrong. I have never owned a fast automatic car but I am glad I have this one. The DCT is very fun and engaging but you feel like you're driving an exotic car at the same time. I know the DCT is not for everyone but I do enjoy it a lot. Mike gave me some tips on which DCT settings to use and I have had no slippage so far.

Overall it has COMPLETELY changed the car and I am absolutely thrilled with it. I am very much looking forward to logging more miles. I will try to report back after some more miles.

I'm gonna be replacing the thermostat soon and I'm wondering what else I should replace while the supercharger is off. The car is just about to hit 70k.

I went through a similar scenario a couple of years ago. Supercharger was going to be off for other work, I was at 70k. I elected to replace everything the center of the V. Throttle actuators, idle air control valve, fuel breather valve and starter.

Had already done the throttle actuators once at 42k, but they were OEM. Went with lifetime units this time as I wanted a permanent solution.

They routinely dyno at around 560-590 for the highest boost setup and 30 ish less for the standard STII. I’ve got a few charts from a couple years ago, I will try to find them next week.

I have a confession to make. In the 11 years I've owned my car, I've not once used the launch control.

I've been wanting to try it out over the last few years, but one question always bugged me.

Does the DCT launch control even work with a harrop on the car?

I always assumed that it would just spin the tires endlessly and fail to launch the car in any meaningful manner whatsoever.

I'm sure there are a few people here that have tried it. What was the result?

I've gotten perfect launches with 200tw tires properly warmed up and pressure lowered. Using a traction compound makes a huge difference. But I think its a good example of "just because you can doesnt mean you should". Fwiw I was out launching the Model Y performance by a large margin. Im sure it was low 3s for 0-60.

Hey folks. Been a minute. 10 years deep on the Harrop and still enjoying it. I wanted to ask if anyone has done the oil change on theirs yet, and if they have any advice for DIY. I understand it can go for a long time but after this long and 50k miles I think its time. Thanks!!

I would love to see replies for this. I have yet to find an easy method. I hope somebody else did. I hate to pull mine just to change the oil. I had over 50K on mine.

This was the best I could find but its AI generated:

To change the oil on an Harrop TVS1740 supercharger, you must suck out the old fluid via a syringe and refill with the exact same volume removed, as the unit does not drain by gravity like a standard engine. The recommended oil change interval (OCI) is approximately 100,000 miles, though this should be reduced to 30,000 miles or 36 months if the vehicle is driven hard, pulley-down, or used in heavy-duty cycles like racing.

The process involves the following specific steps:

Drain the Oil: Position a syringe with plastic tubing into the front fill/drain plug (typically an Allen key bolt) and suction out the old fluid until only air is removed; some fluid may drain out if the unit is tilted, but suctioning is the primary method.
Refill the Unit: Using a syringe or the bottle's nozzle, carefully add new supercharger oil (such as NYE 605 compatible fluid) until the volume matches the amount extracted, as filling to the plug is not recommended for many aftermarket units and can lead to overfilling.
Verify Capacity: While generic Eaton TVS units often hold 5-6 oz, specific Harrop TVS1740 capacities may vary, so it is critical to consult the manufacturer's specs or the aftermarket partner to ensure the correct amount is used.
Always use specialized supercharger oil and avoid synthetic motor oils, as using the wrong fluid can cause immediate failure. If unsure about the exact capacity or oil type for your specific Harrop unit, contact Eaton support or the specific aftermarket kit manufacturer for precise instructions.

This is a similar but not the same unit with pics. https://www.svtperformance.com/threa...hange.1130330/

If anyone has done this themeselves and can give some advice on how to do it without SC removal, it would be ideal.

Please show me the drain fill plug or Allen Bolt you are referring too! Any kind of picture. I have read this years ago, but I don’t see such an animal. I am old though, maybe I just missed it.

The "lid"/top mount assembly must be removed to access the drain bolt which is indicated here with a red arrow:

Torque specs for reinstallation of the lid/top mount assembly here (obtained from Harrop AU):

I'm assuming there's some sort of a gasket between the two? Or is is it just RTV?
