Catted X-Pipe Recommendation

Hi guys,

I’m in the market to get a catted x-pipe. What’s a good brand to get? I’m not worried about the check engine light as it will get coded out. Based on my research, it seems like a lot of the companies like ESS and such have stopped making them. My nose is burned out from smelling catless fumes from the last 2 decades so I’m doing things a little different this time around and prefer sticking to a catted X.

Thanks!

I like the above suggestion, but for the money, test pipes on a stock X pipe that retains the secondary cats is a great solution.

They don’t do this anymore I called and asked, they said the cats are expensive now so it’ll end up being a $3000 x-pipe which no one in their right mind would pay such a thing.

That’s for gesi 400 cell was closer to 3 k
Gesi 300 cell was cheaper by like 500-600 I think
It was December ish when I was quoted it could have changed again
In this turbulent economic climate nothing is surprising 😔

Hey brother,

I was in the same boat a few months ago, had a client who wanted a catted X-Pipe but was having a hard time finding one as well. I was able to find a local gentleman to make it for us and the fitment was spot on. Turns out he made a ton of BMW parts, including full exhausts, for a well known company.

I can't DM you but feel free to shoot me a message and I'll put you in contact with him. Prices were very reasonable too.

I have an AFE x-pipe which I like. It comes with 300 cel GESI cats and won’t throw a CEL. The price is fair, I paid under 2K on BF a few years back.

What axleback do you have on your car? My AFE x pipe is here. I’m going to throw it on with the oem backbox for now until I can figure out what axleback to do. So far I’m all over the place. Always loved the Corsa, I know I SHOULD do the eissenmen race and have only HEARD a car with the magnalfow catbakc paired with the AFE. I almost bought a set of Fabspeed mufflers but again not enough sound clips of the AFE to decide. The build quality is incredible on the AFE mid section and getting GESI cats was a nice surprise

I have a M Performance Exhaust with the AFE x-pipe. The AFE x-pipe does make it sound better than the OEM x-pipe.

Thank you! I’m excited to get it on and see how it sounds. I’d love to find the m exhaust but they’re far and few between
