Front bumper fitment

I recently replaced a headlight and reinstalled the bumper. Gaps look ok but for my life I could not avoid a slight overhang of the hood with the bumper, at the center grille line. Getting rid of the overhang just widened the gaps. I've been looking at other photos of e92/e90 M3s and seems this is common. What's your experience?

I've had my bumper off about half a dozen times...every time it's off and goes back the gaps just get bigger and bigger.
