Hey Wyatth,
stopping by now and then to check your thread and your beautiful pictures. Having the "same" car makes it even more interesting. Like to believe mine is kept in fair shape but man am I behind you... Keep it up mate! Cheers Nik Last edited by Helmsman; 12-12-2025 at 01:12 AM.. |

^ Thank you, brother! Appreciate those kind words. Yours isn't far behind at all - I am just spoiled by the CA climate, which keeps things easier for me.
I love fall colors - even in mid December. ![]() ![]() And a few more snaps from a recent drive up a local mountain. Super dense fog in the lower half, and perfectly clear towards the top. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by wyatth; 12-12-2025 at 05:42 PM.. |

Amongst a sea of heaps, always good to see a fastidious M owner taking care of his special ride. Very cool! Thanks for sharing your journey with us, Wyatt! Hope to meet you one day.

^ I really appreciate that, bud! Let me know if you're every in the Bay Area.
72K update: - After 13 years with Castrol 10w60 (across 2 cars), I am giving Red Line 5w50 a try. No particular reason, just seems like a good fit for my use case (no track work). So far I notice the engine is a little less cranky at start/when cold, it warms up a tad quicker, and runs a little hotter (normal operating temp is maybe a needle's width higher; but temps after an hour of spirited driving are no higher than with the Castrol). - Annual air filter cleaning. I keep noodling over a carbon plenum setup but my OCD (need weaves to match when I otherwise like the Dinan intake), CARB compliance, and my inability to first hear an apples-to-apples setup (ie, with a quieter exhaust) in person keeps me from pulling the trigger. - Fresh Michelin PS4s. I was running upsized 255/275s, but now running GTS-spec 285/30s in the rear which were not yet available when I bought the previous set. Road force balanced so buttery smooth up to Mexico speeds. I don't notice much in the way of grip differences or comfort, but I think they look better and the slight gearing change is welcomed. Also happy with how they sit on my 10/5 spacers, so sticking with those. I tried holding out for upcoming PSS5s, but couldn't wait anymore. That's fine, still love the PS4s and overall very happy with the current setup. - Fresh alignment. -2.3* F, -2.0* R, with a hair of toe in F & R. Not sure if it's the alignment (the camber spread F:R was reduced) or the 285s on the rear, but there's a tad more understeer now whereas things were pretty neutral before. Not bad, but I might fiddle around with sway bar and shock settings. - Ordered a Mr12Volt CarPlay unit and back up camera, but need to install these still. Obligatory photo dump ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by wyatth; 03-12-2026 at 06:00 PM.. |
