Ignition coil got oil on it.

Hey guys. Was going to do spark plugs on my BMW M850i, when I took out the first ignition coil on the drivers side. I noticed there was oil on the boot of the ignition coil. What do you guys recommend. It’s still under warranty.

If it's under warranty - take it to the dealer!

Technically, it is not the valve cover gasket but the spark plug tube seals, although the two are typically sold together. If you do one, you will be doing the other as well. On both cylinder banks.

Hi guys just an update here. Took it to the dealer they do say it was a valve cover gasket leak, I had oil in cylinders 5 and 6.
Once they had everything apart they did find coolant leaking from turbo solinoid, and they got that fixed up too. Everything was done under warranty. Thanks for everyone that responded and helped.

Great to hear, and good to see the dealer proactively take of the coolant issue. Happy motoring!
