Transmission (DCT) won't shift out of park
I’m sure someone has made a post about this before but I just can’t find it. I have a 2011 E92 M3 DCT and it lives outside in the cold Seattle weather and it didn’t get started for a while because I’ve been away at school. I jumped the car yesterday and everything was as usual until I tried to put the car in reverse and it wouldn’t do it. On the screen in the gauge cluster there is a little gear icon that pops up. I let the car run for probably 15 mins and used my Carly to clear all the engine codes and turn the car off and on to see if the car was just upset from low voltage but it didn’t do the trick. Does anyone know what I should do to make my car move again. Thanks for the help.

Ok so update, I just went to start it now, I gave it the night to throw its tantrum, and it’s now working fine as far as I can see. But for future people looking at this thread that are not so lucky, there were a lot of codes but the ones related to the transmission that caught my eye were 005A48 and 005073 which said “Control valve PV6: short circuit/winding fault” and “Supply of valve group 2: faulty.” There were a lot more relating to voltage and things that had nothing to do with the transmission. This is not the first time the car has gotten upset due to lack of driving. I’ve had my car for a little over a year and in my limited experience I’ve found they get really upset from low voltage and throw random codes until the voltage comes back.
