Help with check engine light - codes!

Can someone please help me with these codes. I just finished installing valve covers, gaskets, vanos covers, plus and tubes. No issue with the install. Car runs great but threw these codes. Cleared the codes but they returned. Could it just be related to a bad cam sensor? Car does have 140k miles and I reused the sensors. There were no issues before the install (with codes). Again, car is running well

Thank you

Check your bank 2 grounds and make sure you have clean metal to metal contact with no paint under your connection

Went to look at it this weekend. Cam sensor was loose. So I swapped positions of both cam sensors on bank 2 and tightened them down. Checked the ground and all is good. I don’t see any bad wiring. Restarted the car and I am no longer getting the 2718 code for the cam sensor.

HOWEVER, I am still getting the other two codes

2761 - Vanos maximum stop inlet bank 2
271C - Vanos regulation inlet bank 2

Does anyone know what could be causing these codes? Would it be related to changing the Vanos covers?

Thank you in advance!

Did you do bolt on vanos covers or clip on? If you did bolt on, it could be timed incorrectly. I don't have a good answer if they are clip on.

There is more than one cam sensor, and more than one ground on the valve covers. Check them all just in case...

So tonight I took off the plenum, ensured all cam sensors were seated and tight, all wiring was correct and grounds were secure. I went ahead and cleaned the Vanos solenoids as well, since I am getting the Vanos codes and I guess there could have been debris introduced.

I’ll drive it around for the next couple days and see what happens.

Thank you all for the advice.
