I ran/am running a 295/30/18 PS4S on a 10.5 wide. I ran 3.5-3.7 degrees of camber. I am fairly certain it was closer to 3.7.

Perhaps these two .ppt slides will help. You'll need at least -3.0 to -3.5 IMO. Slides are taken from the video linked below.

Yes, I also rotate after every event, but they have worn very well.

Good information DrFerry I go out at ~32psi cold and target 37 hot. If my hot pressure is above that I air down and then monitor from there.

PS4S like higher pressures from a 200 from what I have read.

IMO (which means absolutely nothing btw) you may benefit (in longevity) from trying a lower tire pressure and not give up too much performance. It could be because its an all season tire you are running but I run 27 cold and keep at 32 hot. Good tire wear and performance. I am -3.5F and -2.7 rear camber on 200TW.

I have a set of 200s coming in for this season and will definitely run lower; more along with what you recommend.

Lord willing, I will not go back to the PS4S for track days, except maybe rain days.

So just had a buddy discover his brand new ECFs have cracked to failure from having a shop keep his car outside in substantial cold (under 20, possibly close to 0F)

Now I?m freaking out. I?m taking my car to road Atlanta, and my move is to load it onto the (open) trailer the night before so I can just get up and go.

My concern is that temps are going to drop to 31F overnight. Bridgestone?s published numbers are ?do not flex below 41F, and if it goes below 25F take 24 hours to warm back up?.

Definitely load the car in the morning, but go to bed earlier as well. If the tread experiences cold cracking, chunks or strips could fly off and hit the inside of the fender. It sounds like gunshots when that happens - and besides that the tire's tread compound could also be damaged and grip characteristics reduced. Not worth the risk or the $$$ expense to replace them. Keep them warm in the garage... Now let's not also ignore the wind chill effects from convective cooling on the trailer while under load and from towing at high way speeds. I digress. Can you transport them inside the vehicle and use some street tires to hold the car up while towing or is it a covered trailer?

Not really an option to roll it on street rubber. Open trailer, but I think if I load in the morning it?ll be fine. It?s going to be in the 50s here tomorrow so I think the residual heat from the garage plus the natural warming up will keep things alright then.

Worst case throw some old towels in the drier and then put them on the tires?

That's crazy though I have never heard of that happening. I quite literally just got a set of ECF's.

Anyone used any of the Vitour options? I'm looking for a good seat-time tire that still has better pace and consistency over the 200 options.

The Sonic looks like a great 100 options if it truly doesn't heat cycle out like they say. I loved running the Supercar 3R but they cycled out before they were worn out so I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit of pace if I can get more sessions out of them. Plus, they're a bit cheaper.

I'll probably run the Hankook slicks for a hero session tire, and Conti Sport 02s as a wet and street tire, but looking for something in the middle...

I actually like the Vitour V-01R 300TW tires lol

I personally think the Vitours are good for our heavy as cars, stiff sidewalls.

I've used the Vitour Tempesta P1's and did a PB (58.0x at LRP). Then for science, I mounted fresh R7's for the next session. The lap time improved by three-tenths of a second.

Personally, I would try the new RE71RZ tire. Hard to imagine how this update could be any better than the last version.

That’s a strong endorsement of the P1’s. R7’s have been the benchmark for about a hundred years.

At the same time, I’m about to take a turn on the RE-71RZ and have high hopes.

New 71s are going on my wife's MINI so I'll get experience with those too but historically I didn't care for the 71RS since, on my car, after a few push laps they would go off. Slicks and 100s don't seem to have that issue... you can push and push and push.

It's hero lapper for sure, but I found it to be the best of the super 200's.

The R8 should be the right balance of fast and consistent, without taking half a session to warm up like a true racing slick.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned about Vitor's that I just want to warn people about is rain performance. I have not heard a single friend who run these that they run them in the rain as the rain performance is garbage. Just keep in mind and maybe bring a set of something else if it looks your weekend could be wet.

Bring your street tires for wet tracks. The Vitour Tempesta P1 is like a dry qualifying tire. According to Tire Rack's test data it wears like cheese - especially on the tread rib edges - is poor for wet traction but has high dry grip. It should probably be graded as UTQG Treadware = <=100 IMO.
