M2 Competition calipers on the E92?
The recent pictures of the M2 Competition show rather nice front calipers (6 pot?) and I wonder whether these would be compatible with the discs and wheels on the E92 M3 (Competition pack, so 19" wheels).
Ditto for the rear calipers. I do like a nice bit of brake jewellery, and this is something that is quite disappointing with the standard calipers....

A few folks make adapters to run F80 calipers and rotors on the E9x. I would *expect* that they would work for those M2comp brakes.
Given the other inexpensive Brembo options or expensive BBK options, I wouldn't expect that this is the best return-on-investment outside of looks. |

Anything is possible with enough time and money.
I think the biggest blocker to actually installing these will be the purchase price since they're brand new. It's not going to be cost effective versus an aftermarket BBK, but maybe in a few years there will be some lightly used ones available. Hard to tell from the photos, but they look very similar to the M5/M6 calipers...

It's probably comparable in price to the M5 caliper, and that's $1100 per side from ECS, but their front and rear M5 caliper retrofit kit for the E9x is only $3800 which isn't totally outrageous though it doesn't include calipers (which you can buy and bolt on separately)
But I don't know why one wouldn't just buy the AP Racing kit at that price either, and shed weight from the car and get better performing parts and easier pad changes and and and But I don't hard park so maybe the M stickers are important

$3800?! That's PFC BBK territory.

Has anybody retrofitted the standard M4 calipers yet (4 pot front, 2 pot rear)? That would be a fair/modest upgrade and should be cheaper than the 6 pot ECS upgrade.

Its been done a lot. I think ECS even sells the kit. For the money, it's not a great ROI unless BMW OEM looks are super important.

IND sells brackets to get the F8x CCB's to work on our car, with a different booster, for the low low price of $13,700
But just think about how much you'd save on...something I have to admit I'm tempted. It's a huge weight savings and goooooooolllllld

I have 6 pot front calipers from a G87 M2 (same calipers as G80 M3s and F90 M5 and M8s) on 380mm discs and inside 19" 220 wheels they only just squeeze in. At the point of tightest clearance, the calipers are within 5mm of the wheel. Tight! |
