X-Pipe makes sense

Hi,

I currently have a Milltec rear silencer and am considering buying a supersprint x-pipe - see link. Downpipe is not possible in our country due to legislation.

The question is, does it make sense to invest money in a supersprint x-pipe compared to the OEM version?

The reason I want to buy it is that I expect a better sound.

SS x-pipe doesn't make sense unless you have a SS rear section, it is not compatible without custom fabrication.

this is just part of their xpipe system not the full one. you do need their "down" pipes, but it's not worth just getting this part and welding it to the OEM cats.

you're better off just leaving a stock xpipe, and gutting the secondary cats vs removing them to "hide" that mod.

Their adapters mate their rear sections to OEM style X-Pipes, not the other way around. Unless you buy their OEM style X-Pipe you're stuck using their rear section.

To the OP, unless you go with a forward X, there isn't much performance benefit going with an aftermarket X-Pipe. They're pretty much designed the same. Only main difference being whether it's resonated and/or catted or not, which you can modify the stock X-Pipe to basically achieve the same results. But depends on your goals, budget, ease of reverting back to stock etc.

so my comment was saying that's wrong because you can run a SS Xpipe with any rear section with the adapter they make.

They won't even with adapters, that's what I was trying to say. If it's their X-Pipe specific for their rear section you're SOL.

Their adapter is to mate their rear section with an OEM style X-Pipe. If it's a SS style X-Pipe it'll only work with their rear sections.

They say on the website that they are OEM compatible :

Compatible with the OEM catalytic converter

You just need to cut it off

I'm more concerned with whether it makes sense in terms of sound improvements compared to OEM.

hold on i got this mixed up and im sorry to the guy i replied too.

LOL i forgot it was the opposite, it was the adapter for their rear section to any oem style ball flange xpipe.

but they do make a regular ball style xpipe so there's that. which is what is shown in the url.
