It has some interesting design elements, but there are a lot of cars I would rather have for 500k.

Give us all-analog if they want the desirable kind of old. No one 'wants' a 2018 interior in 2025. 1999 Z8 interior, maybe. |

I believe we can savely conclude that BMW is not that much in supercars as it is in heavy weight SUV's. BMW will probably never again invest in a dedicated M car, after their XM experience.

I like it except for the rear. The rear looks like a Porsche, which I’ve never been any fan of design-wise. However it could be a good baseline. Unfortunately it seems BMW is moving away from high end and/or performance cars and simply following iPad screen trends and base performance to chase sales. While I get it, I also don’t. They need to stop calling everything an M and at least have some sort of dedicated super car territory. I love this Skytop. I was gonna get one but it was sold out, apparently before I even ever heard of it. Wild.

Too lazy to complete the interior properly hence a reskin of the 8 keeping the old idrive - rework the description to fit the lazy narrative - my 2 cents

That's the really sad part: it's more likely than not that this car will sit largely un-driven. It seems like such a waste when you see a 10 year old car with 2,000 miles or something like that.

Thanks for the picture, really drives home that it’s an 8 series. They tweaked the headlights and filled in the side profile. As others mentioned, reskinned the 8 series interior which is why it’s using Idrive 7 and last gen steering wheel.
The 8 series is a great looking BMW which is why this one is nice. It’s immediately recognizable as an 8 series platform. The other thing the Skytop will share with it’s 8 series brothers is heavy depreciation. This is no Z8 imo. |
