DON'T get hotchkis, rear ended up destroying the axles, cut the bar out because I wasn't about to drop the subframe again to put the stock in, will do when I have the time.
Even with adjustable end links you still destroyed the axle boots? I was just looking at the hotchkis set from BW. I am trying to get all my parts together to drop the subframe once.

FWIW on this thread, I run 18x10.5 square on Apex's offset. I think it's +25. 5mm spacers on front with 295/30 PS4S on track with no rub on fenders. The liners take some hits at full lock. It does require a fair bit of camber which you will run on track anyways.

Are you running front coil-overs to avoid the inner tire shoulder rubbing the stock OEM spring perch?

I am currently on yellowspeed premium competition coilovers for the time being. Not the greatest, but I needed something to replace the warn out EDC shocks.

The 5 mil spacer is to avoid the collar that secures the spring. These coilovers use a linear spring. I think I have a picture on my phone if you want to see what they looked like before installation.

Thanks for the reply. The coil-overs are the reason you can run the 295/30R18 (you mentioned earlier) on the front axle without rubbing issues. I just wanted folk to know that. No need for a photo. Thanks anyway.

I run 295/30/18 square without coil overs on track.

I have bilstein B6 damptronic which I believe is similar to stock dimensions. Also run Vorahlag camber plates. I have 10.5” Apex VS5RS wheels. Setup works well with a litttle fender rubbing on fast sweepers and some curbs. Adjustable front links should fix that.

I had this same setup on factory edc with H&R lowering springs and no spacers.

I did have vorshlag camber plates though. I still rubbed on the fenders at the forward-most position where it meets the bumper. I do not rub there any longer with the coilovers. I think the poor damping on the worn EDC was the culprit there.

EDIT: Good information either way!

I destroyed a rear boot on my old car with the Hotchkis bars as well. After readjusting the link, I ran it without any issues for another ~3 years or so.

So if I understand correctly, you ran a 295/30R18 front tire on an 18X10.5 wheel, with the stock OEM EDC suspension struts, without any spacers but experienced only minor rubbing where the fender meets the bumper. Your front wheel offsets were ET = 25 but earlier in the quote above I see you mentioned 5mm spacers. Were those spacers just for track use with the coil-overs?

What link did you use? I had stock ones because I thought I couldn't find any adjustable links that would space the bar far enough away from the boot. But you have no issues so now I'm very intrigued.

Yes, 18x10.5 and 295/30/18 on both. Wheel and tire setup did not change. I wouldn't call the rubbing minor, it impacted the fenders on the front where it meets the bumper on bumps where the whole front end would lower at once vice one wheel impacting then the other. When I pulled the front EDC shocks, there were no more bumpstops, so I attribute the rubbing and impact to worn shocks with no more bump stops. This was with NO spacers.

I am currently running 5 mm spacers on the front with coilovers. I do not have fender rub. The only reason for the spacers is to clear the inner coilover locking collar.

The stock EDC shocks with H&R springs did not require spacers. The lower spring perch sat above the tire. You will 100% require camber plates and a lot of camber. I had a track alignment at the time so -3.5 degrees. (Still same amount of camber with the coilovers and spacers).

how'd you get so much negative camber on the stock edc shocks?

adjustable LCA?

or am I missing the fact you had camber plates or it was on coilovers.

It was a couple of posts up, but I was on camber plates.

No worries!

And this is exactly why searching can be difficult, because answers are all over the place.

From what I'm gathering thus far.... 18x11's with 295/30/18 and proper offset to clear the suspension will work fine on a track car. They may rub in certain places, but nothing that won't eventually self clear. (EDIT: With proper negative camber.)

To be even more specific.... I know 10.5's will work, but I want to run 295 tires and 10.5's don't provide enough support for that much width. 285 is ok for 10.5 but the sidewall is non existent. I'd rather a 275/35 if 10.5 is the safe bet for wheel width.

I don't have that car anymore, but I'm pretty confident they were Bimmerworld rear links.

I can't find them anymore on the BW site, so I'd probably do SPL. On my current car, I decided to keep the stock rear bar, so just installed new OEM links.
