Spotify now stopping randomly often

So both after the recent iDrive update and me updating to iOS 26 - Spotify via CarPlay on my X1 keeps stopping for no reason. Then I have to restart it then it stops again. So annoying.

Anyone else have this issue? My other music that is in my regular iPhone library works fine though - so it's just an issue with Spotify.

iOS 26 is first major redesign of the operating system since iOS 7. Unless I don't have a choice, I never install a new iOS when it is first released. Case in point, when Apple released iOS 18 in 2024, I waited for 18.2 before downloading it to my phone as most of the bugs in the initial release were addressed and corrected.

You are able to play your songs from Apple Music because it is not a 3rd party app while Spotify is. In your case, iOS 26 most likely is causing the issues you are having with Spotify using CarPlay and hopefully will be corrected when they release 26.1.

A possible fix would be to uninstall Spotify from your phone and then reinstall it.
