Talk about an update, Alex.
So much inspiration here, especially with your rollercoaster of emotions. As wild as the journey has been for you, it's one hell of a journey where you can tell many stories.

As my dad says, "Life is boring without stories; go create them."

I figured some things out, that's for sure haha. I don't know if it's correct, but I'll just keep sending it this way. Thanks for reading.

I live a bit by that too. It's all about the stories. That's all we get. Thanks for the kind words.

Also, thought I'd share this piece I concepted/directed/drove in for Mobil 1. It was more of a pilot of a show we were going to produce, and maybe we still will, but here's when the car was still streetable. Long live the E92!

Great work man! Absolutely smashed my “fastest” E92 at COTA time. 😂. Mel and I were happy to help! I’m glad you’re keeping e92’s on the map! I can’t wait to see what you cook up for next year!

I keep finding myself wandering back to this thread and rereading large portions of it. Each time I do, I run through my head that I should sell my E90 and build a lightweight Alpine White E92. Where's the clone button?

Are you still on for Laguna Seca in September? Anxious for updates...Great storytelling.

Ah, thanks man. I enjoy telling the story and I love having this thread to go back to to remind myself of the journey.

I am still on for Laguna! We are just waiting on a new splitter from Zebulon. I beefed up the dimensions a bit... so it'll be a full 6" off the bumper edge now. Not limited by class rules, I figured, why not go for more front downforce?

I'd be happy to help you build a clone. It's why I started www.sub2speedhouse.com

Thanks for the kind words! Proper updates soon. Till then, here's the new home for the E92. I street drove it and it reminded me how insane the car really is. We are sharing an HQ space with our friends at Socal Drivers Club down in Los Alamitos, CA. Looking forward to SUB2's continued growth this year!

Here's a lap or two from Gridlife Laguna Seca. It was a tough weekend.
Haven't driven the car since COTA back in April, had another kid, and just confidently showed up to Laguna thinking it'd be great.

And what a fucking track it is... Every time I'm there, every time you're just sending it through 6 or catapulting down the Corkscrew, sliding out of 11 onto the straight thinking about the Burgmeister / Magnussen battle chaos. Just legendary! And again, to be there in this iteration of the E92... this violent, energetic, lively and manic fucking iteration. It's so hard to drive it calm and collected. Every time you're in it, it feels like someone's just sending cocaine through a jet turbine straight into your face. I can't imagine what it'll be like when we add another 200hp.

With multiple crashes during the event, I had only 2 full sessions to really drive. One on Friday, with a bad setup, and one on Sunday morning. Sadly, it wasn't enough to get us into the top 5 podium sprint, but had that 86 let me by instead of holding me up, we'd have likely made the cut with a low 31 lap. Regardless, PROGRESS! This thing ran a 1:36 2 years ago, and to know it's a 31 now, without adding power, is radical.

I'll share some photos later, but for now, here's the lap. Tomorrow, we test at Buttonwillow to get ready for GTA Finals in November.

And here's one of the most insane battles, ever, referenced above.

Great work at Laguna! I was following closely through instagram.

It looks like SDC had a good weekend. Some of your F8X cars did well.

Thanks for keeping the thread updated also!

Good work and thank you for representing the community proudly! I'll be at Road America with my E92 GT3 spec this weekend, looking forward to having one more event before the car goes under the knife this winter.

Thanks guys. Here's a lap from this weekends Buttonwillow test.
Happy to say we PB'd right off the trailer and backed it up 3 more times. I just need to trust the aero and calm the rear down a little more so I can push harder. Buttonwillow surface feels awful after coming from Laguna and COTA... Big surprise.

I'd like to find a 1:46 here for GTA finals. Fresh rubber, cool temps and some tweaks and MAYBE I can find it. We'll see!

AIM was set to the wrong configuration, so don't mind the timer top right. 1:48.80.

Too funny that I should open this thread today when this past weekend a friend and I were discussing best races over a few beers in the garage. Mine was between the Magnussen Burgmeister battle at Laguna Seca (I was watching this one live back in the day - edge of my seat...) and race 1 of the 2023 MX5 Cup race at Road Atlanta.

Not to flood your thread, but it's worth a watch!

But of course, the E92 is killer. Keep it up. I need to stop coming in here before I do something drastic.
