WTB: ESS E-Flash Cable
![]() Hi, My vehicle came with an ESS Tune due to the ESS Forward X-Pipe with HFC, Dinan exhaust, and AFe Intake. Previous owner does not have the cable anymore but was able to get the stock and tuned files. I'd like to see if anyone has a cable laying around that they are willing to sell in the event I need to go back to stock for emissions purposes. ESS told me to kick rocks so I'm hoping someone has one they aren't using anymore. Thanks. |

Havent used ESS but have others for cars & motos, so maybe someone that has will comment but...
If it's the type of cable that locks to your VIN then you are out of luck. You'll have to buy it again from ESS or switch to Alpinemss or similar If it's just the computer program thats locked to your VIN you might be able to use a regular OBD2 to USB cord from Amazon |

Yeah ESS hasn’t really been wanting to help since I’m not the original owner even though the tunes were provided by owner.
Guess I may just have to flash back to stock and go a different route. |

I have ess hfc xpipe and have no issue passing emissions. Check and see if the obd readiness are all good. If yes then you shouldn't have problem passing. You can check with cheap obd2 reader and torque lite app.

The readiness monitors are not all active yet as the battery was changed prior to purchasing. Using my Launch X431 to monitor. Where are you located if I may ask? |

That's odd. If all monitors are ready and no faults why would it fail? I'm not familiar with Colorado emissions so i don't have much insight. I would turn to the regional forum and see if people have better insight. Good luck!

Thanks, I have a feeling it’s tune and maintenance related. Running really rich. |
