Vacuum vs Electric muffler valves
I will definitely be buying an exhaust for my car soon, just wondering people’s experiences with electric valves. I would want to get electric over vacuum simply due to the instant actuation of the valves.
That being said, I’ve heard the stories about how unreliable electric can be, so my question is, are they really that bad or is it just chance they go out. Also do either option have more/less rattle in the valves when driving because that would be a huge factor too. Thanks Last edited by slowmtree; 11-06-2024 at 04:39 PM.. Reason: forgot |

Factors to consider:
, valved v conventional systems; opted for a single, integrated high quality system which sounds unique, exotic & AMAZING. > Absolute 'ear porn' ![]() I chose to go 'full beans' - -My system set up [Stage II, cat-less] => Supersprint:

I ran the Evolve Etronic valved exhaust for 3 years and never once had an issue with the electronic valves. It was recommended to clean the valves once in a while, but I never did and the valves always worked.

With the valved exhaust I have, it is vacuum actuated and I bought a vacuum pump that sits in the space under the trunk liner. I did not want to tap vacuum off of the brake booster or BPV.

Previous owner of my car installed turn down cutouts and vacuum actuated valves tapped into the brake booster. Not my favorite configuration but I’ve managed to live with it for now. I’m considering putting the solenoid on a relayed circuit but I’m garbage at electronics.
valves open pulling away Hwy 20 tunnel I’m also considering going back to a more stock config sans valves. But I’ll probably wait for them to break before I do that. You will hurt feelings with those valves open. |
