1:55 at CVR without pushing the limits of the car on my first time out. It’s surprisingly easy to drive. There is a lot more in it. I would expect under 1:50 as I get more comfortable on my next visit.

I’ll be at Willow Springs this Friday with Speed District.

Curious as to why you chose S62 over S65. Cost/availability? Or is it an easier fit. Also curious what you did for steering column.

We started the build so long ago that sourcing the engine was a consideration. Not to mention torque and a proven racing pedigree. The S62 won the 24 hours of Daytona overall three times.
A few things to note:
The S62 requires a dry sump system.
You can run the oem oil pan with a S65.
It has a custom steering column. Moved to miss the engine and headers. That reminds me that the headers were custom made to work around the steering column.

*FYI. Just do an S65 if you want to avoid a bunch of expensive and custom parts. 🤣🤪

I think the S65 has the same steering column challenges. Dry sump helps to make fitment easier but of course requires a ton of custom fabrication. Mine is dry-sump as well. Fall Line has done a few S62 versions and they are built very similar to the S65 vesion(s).

Yes sir! Although I have been contemplating selling it since the addition of a 992 GT3 Cup. As incredible as the BMW is, it’s hard to beat a factory built Cup Car.

I just repainted the front end and side skirts. It’s looking pristine.

gorgeous, gorgeous car!

would also love to hear the chronicles of a 992 cup as a presumably HPDE car, lol (unless you're competing with it?)

992 Cup is just wow. What an experience it is to drive it. I do not race at this point. The cost to compete at that level is immense and I'm simply not in a position to do that.

Word is correct. Ben just took delivery of this beast and is super excited to carry on the tradition of a super clean build.

It’s sad to see this car go but we will be focusing on the 992 GT3 Cup and G80 M3 now that the E46 is gone. Note the BMW homage on the cup car seat inserts

Some of the G80 pics courtesy of our friends at PSI.

So two weekends ago I was able to helm Slicer's old E46 as I was invited by Ben from Rogue Engineering to participate with my friend Joe Burris for its shakedown event.

All I can say is "what a car"!!!! I was speechless by the performance of this vehicle although it was my first time at NJMP Lightning, first time on slicks, first time with a sequential, first time left foot braking an entire track and the lowest power setting the car offered. We ran more narrow Hoosier R7's than what is capable with this wheel setup but it didn't matter, the amount of grip generated by the aero and slicks created such high V-Min's that it made me question reality. I ran numerous low 1:10's that weekend while letting off a couple high risk turns as I wanted to respect the build.

Can't thank Ben enough for the opportunity and looking forward to helming it again in the future. What an amazing race car!

Here are some pics and video (more POV video to come).......
