Hey everyone, I'm new here so please tell me if I am searching wrong, cause I can't seem to find a dedicated post/thread about this.
Anyways, I recently picked up a 2012 E92 M3 w/ 70k miles. I definitely want to get the car tuned, as I've heard it can really perk the car up in the lower rev range (I'll be doing the GTS DCT tune as well). Evolve is the most common company I can see for Stage 2, and they provide the catless pipes as well, which is a nice bonus. It's gonna cost around $1250 to get the engine tune, pipes and GTS tune, so I definitely want any input I can get. Do you guys have any considerations/things that I am maybe overlooking? Any issues down the line after Stage 2? Would you suggest sticking with Stage 1 from Alpine? Any input is appreciated! EDIT: Emissions are not tested where I live, so no issues there. |

Welcome!!!
I am about 12 months behind you on pulling the trigger. I haven't price shopped very much, but I am leaning towards BPM for my tune just from what I have read on here. Evolve seems like a great shop, would not mind doing business with them either. BPM is more local, so just seems more natural choice for me. Only consideration I would offer is, if the rod bearings havent been replaced yet, do that first for peace of mind.

The Evolve was just appealing to me because of the included pipes. Besides that, I see the BPM DCT tune costs $850 while the GTS tune from Alpine and Evolve both cost $150. Do you know if the BPM DCT tune is improved over the GTS one? Last edited by EeeNinetyTwo; 01-28-2025 at 04:02 PM.. Reason: Found the BPM website and needed to ask a more relevant question. |

The DCT tune from us is actually $199 as an add on and you can use code bimmerpost for 10% off
When you go through the process to add the engine software to the cart, it will ask what transmission you have, and if DCT is selected it will let you add that software at the reduced price. (BTW it has never been $850, it is $499 as a standalone with the tuning cable). It is definitely more cost effective to do the engine and trans at the same time and use one cable for both! With the discount the price is under 1k for both. We can also set you up with AA test pipes if you’d like. If you have any questions please feel free to let us know!
