torque specs for under engine skid plate?

Hey all,

Does anybody have a link or know the torque specs of the metal skid plate that sits under the engine? The one that has the front jack point on it.

Doing some exhaust work tomorrow, and need to remove it. Want to ensure its torqued back correctly.

Pretty sure it is ~40ftlb plus 90 degrees for the aluminum reinforcement plate. Or, 3 ugga duggas.

BMW recommends replacing the bolts. I never do. Just make sure the are guttentight.

It is way tighter than 45ftlb. Double check but I think it is ~41ftlb plus 90 degrees.

Necroing my own thread because I need to pull the skid plate off again, and updating in case it helps someone in the future.

TIS does in fact say:

56 NM + 90 degrees further (41 ft lb + 90 degrees further)

However most importantly, the bolts used are torque to yield bolts, meaning they are one time use bolts.

The part number for the replacement bolts is 33326768354, and there are 7 of them.

I've been using an M12 impact on these forever and reusing them and I would venture to guess that most shops are doing this too.

Same... But now that I've read this, I'll probably get a new set of bolts. They're not expensive and imo it's worth a 10-year refresh since these bolts flex constantly.
