Carbahn Vanos Washers

Did a search but didn't see much activity;

Now that people are moving away from the snap-on covers and going a more permanent solution, why aren't more people using the Carbahn washers versus NRW / Mporium?
Does that cup edge do something that Carbahn doesn't think of? There is a huge price difference between the products but I imagine if you bought a 4.6 from Carbahn it would come with their own products and those motors are big power.

Am I missing something?

A lot of people aren’t aware of the Carbahn offering and there is next to no advertising here of that product. I’ve seen them mentioned on Instagram, that’s about it. The mporium cups are nice and reasonable for the machine time put into them. But I’m of the opinion that if your engine does something that makes that spring jump the retaining posts past the Carbahn washer, that event would not have been prevented by the mporium cups. The key is neither offering will fill your oil pickup with debris like any of the clip ons might.

The NRW is simply a new-to-market cash grab copy of our original Mporium cup design.

For the main purpose of preventing the spring from walking off the pin, the Carbahn washer will suffice. We designed our CUP to encapsulate and streamline the assembly which has potential to retain debris in the case the pin breaks free or the spring comes apart- it "covers" any and all potential contingencies, as rare as they may be. It's the more elegant design..
