Flat Bottom, dark Alcantara 9040 (wheel and trim), M stitching, no colored stripe, modified to have DCT shifters openings. Custom ordered from ERA Wheels (Vilnius, Lithuania) for $580, ended up never mounting or using it.

Taking into account the valuable input by PNW M3, I had my BMW tech buddy checking everything and I can now confirm that the DCT paddles can be mounted. If you don’t mind the openings at the back, it can also be used with a manual transmission car.

Please inspect them carefully as this is not an OEM DCT M3 steering wheel. It is an E9x BMW wheel that has been modified by ERA wheels (Alcantara re-wrap, cut-outs for the paddles, flat bottom).

Bump - still available, organized storage and saw the box again

Have you mounted paddles to it? I got a wheel from ERA and they did the same thing as pictured here - they modify a 6 speed wheel to get paddles to fit. I couldn’t get the paddles mounted and had to make a claim with PayPal for refund. ERA was awful to work with.

Thank you for your input, I finally did after your question. They do mount, seat straight, and function, however visually when looking at the back of the steering wheel one leaves a slightly bigger gap than the other. My guess is that it is due to the padding ERA used to cover the back of the wheel.

After educating myself about ERA wheels (never too late...) I confirm that, similarly to your case, the donor wheel was not an M3 DCT wheel.

And for those who might have followed this thread, allow me to quote your reply from another thread:

The mounting surface on the back of the wheel, where the paddle mechanism mounts and the wires pass through is completely hacked. It should not look like it’s chewed by a mouse and cut with a hot knife. This is why they (era) wrap the entire back of the wheel - to cover the cut surfaces. Frankly, if the paddles mount, it works fine and interesting that they found out a 6 speed wheel has the appropriate metal attachments deep under the foam/rubber. For me the holes they drilled weren’t lined up properly to allow the OEM paddles to sit flush. They never even responded to my PayPal claim and so it was awarded in my favor. Then they lied to me and had me ship it back to Lithuanian for $100 and never paid me for that. Awful people. Told me the same thing - paid more for a DCT wheel.

Now that said, the fit / finish of the wheel absent this is top notch. I think the wheel is worth your asking price so long as the paddles mount correctly. You should mount them and buyer should have confidence so long as it looks aesthetically correct. But unfortunately it’s not a correct dct core.
