NGK-Ruthenium HX Plugs- Anyone have this?
I just changed my plugs on my car due to slightly longer crank and start. I had 30,000 miles on the OEM-type NGK plugs. Switched to NGK Ruthenium HX plugs (LKR8BHX-S). Only change are the plugs and now the car runs fine for 20 minutes then I get 2B37, 2B38 etc which is misfire, DME cylinder cut-off on every single cylinder 1-8 and of course it hardly runs, can't barely go 40 mph max. Clear codes and it's good for a couple of minutes then same thing again.
Anyone try these new "improved" plugs? They are rated for S65, same 5,000 ohm rating but it's odd that it's such a mess for me. I checked my ground to block wire and added some conducting grease (it was okay), my coils are old, all have 154,000 miles but I've had no trouble and what are the odds that suddenly every single one is bad. Anyway, I guess I'm going to try the regular OEM plugs again, but wondering if anyone has experienced this and if not perhaps these plugs are not an "upgrade" for our motors. |

I see no reason to stray from OEM plugs.
Many others are available saying they work with s65, but I've only heard issues with them, never any success stories. |

That figures. Live and learn. When I torqued up the last spark plug yesterday, I thought, "that's the last time I have to change the plugs" since I'm planning to sell my M3 next spring. Well, evidently, not quite yet, one more change to go.

Confirmed!!
The "fancy" NGK plugs are rubbish. Sent them back to suppler, installed the stock NGK plugs, went for long test-drive and all is good. For anyone else tempted to try these new "improved" plugs, stay away! |

I tried it. Car misfired all cylinders. I shared details here along with many others all failed as well:

I installed 6 NGK 94122 LFR6AHX-S Ruthenium HX spark plugs in my E90, after two weeks, it still running very well without any error code.
