How much is my salvage titled 2013 M3 worth?

I have a low milage (45,637 miles) 2013 M3 which has a salvage title from a minor rear end accident. The exterior color is midnight blue. The interior is black, has navigation system, and in like new condition.

Would you guys please help me figure out what the car is worth these days? The only modifications are manually adjustable KW coil overs and after market wheels. All maintenance has been kept meticulously up to date. Has new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

They were quite rare, but it could be Carbon Black as well.

Not related to the post but is anyone else having issues in the search? I haven’t been able to use the search function for a few days.

Somewhat surprisingly, 37 E9x M3s did come factory finished in Carbon Black. Most were RHD and made for the UK market with none made for North America.

- 1 x E90
- 14 x E92
- 22 x E93

No offense to OP but a minor rear end collision does not match up with a salvaged title.. most would argue that's the opposite of the definition of minor

What will help your value is a copy of the Carfax, pictures of the damage, all paperwork regarding repairs/repaints and maybe even a PPI for your buyers.

You mentioned meticulous maintenance. Does that include RBs and TAs?

I knew there were a few, but I erroneously thought that some came to the US as LHD. Carbon Black is such a great color even though it is high maintenance.

This. The damage for this VIN was pretty severe, not minor, and is what will hold the value down. Rear damage for any car can easily total it since damage is usually not limited to components like bumper covers that can be bolted on. Damage to the unibody like this requires repairs that's never performed to OE quality and since most buyers know this, it kills the value.

Yeah..this car got f*'d lol. Look at that front right wheel, it's turned while the left is straight. At the very least there was suspension/control arm damage and likely frame/chassis involvement too. Sorry OP but hopefully you knew what you were buying. What will help is that PPI with documentation showing the car on an alignment rack to ensure it's straight

if RB/TA was done I'd mark this car somewhere in the high 20s. The accident really dings value here unfortunately.

Thank you all for your input.

I purchased this vehicle in 2018 as a replacement for my 2011 335is FBO, which I could no longer legally keep (due to emissions) after leaving the military. The dealership in San Diego was upfront about the car’s salvaged title, explaining that it had been involved in a “rather minor” rear-end accident that didn’t affect its drivability or balance. After a thorough and aggressive test drive, I was confident in the vehicle’s condition and appreciated the warranty period offered by the dealer. Given the price, I didn’t seek additional details at the time, and it felt like a low-risk investment.

Over the past 6+ years, this car has exceeded my expectations. It’s been garage-kept, driven only about 4,000 miles a year, and I’ve stayed on top of all preventive and corrective maintenance. The engine has never given me any trouble, and I’ve been extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Unfortunately, due to recent serious health issues, my financial situation has changed significantly. My wife is commuting to Los Angeles several days a week to complete her master’s degree, currently using our daughter’s car. I’m planning to sell this vehicle to buy her a reliable Honda commuter.

@dar2008: Thank you for sharing the BidHistory.org report! I wasn’t aware of that site, and it’s incredibly informative.

I plan to get a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) from BMW and put together an information binder for potential buyers. Does anyone have additional recommendations?

Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Wishing the best for you and your family. You're a good man putting your wife's needs ahead of your own. GLWS
the prior history with pictures, clean PPI and a list of all the repairs/maintenance will definitely help you maximize your sale.
