I'll just buy the model and stick it on my shelf, thank you!

I hope I live long enough to explain to my grandchildren why we ever thought it was a good idea to make electric cars.

And they’ll give you big hugs and tell you how nice it was to visit with you at the nursing home, then they’ll drive home in their electric cars…

This has literally nothing to do with the drivetrain… this is because clueless artsy idiots are in charge of their car design.

This is what happens when you try to keep a design for the sake of history. A design that is fundamentally not needed anymore but need to keep because it’s iconic and recognizable.

But man if they can’t make it look good, it’ll just make the brand eat its own fingers. I’m sure anyone can look at that and say they can design that nose better.

If they wanted fresh look, maybe get rid of that grill design altogether and design entirely new one.

Don’t mind it being strange as long as it’s great otherwise, loved my i3s dearly. Ugly just means I can get a deal on it

I have no issues with EVs other than the insistence on making them look ridiculous lol. Just give me a somewhat regular looking car that runs on a battery and I’m good.

please not another minimalist tesla interior. I agree with Trife - regular looking car with a battery is fine by me. Example: i4/i5.

I don’t get it, why make the lights into infinity mirrors? If the lights didn’t stretch and touch the grille this might actually look good.

I laughed when I saw this on instagram thought it was a spoof. I actually really like the saloon nk but this is the most disgusting front to a vehicle I have ever seen. Maybe it’s just some weird angle photo but my god what is happening in corporate that allows this thing see the light of day I would rather be seen driving an xm

Part of the problem is I honestly believe there is a brain drain in these departments. They are incapable of designing anything new and original (that isn’t hideous).

Exterior design looks like heavily inspired by bimmers from 70ties. I guess iX and 4 series sized grills will be gone for good too. Interested to see how their ICE vehicles will be styled.

This is an SUV version of Neue Klasse, if I understood correctly.

So yeah, these lights and grille remind me of 80s BMWs, not bad, at least better than current XM and G8x.

Always makes me chuckle when people see one grainy picture and are up in arms about how terrible it looks..

Why not withhold judgement until at least a few more photos are released? I’m willing to bet at least a few of the detractors will be future owners.

Also, I’m looking forward to the design aesthetic of these fully electric cars more so than the i4-i7 which share a body with an ICE. The reasoning is so much interior space can be gained when theres no need for a transmission tunnel or fuel tank. The iX is a good example of this.

Nope the brain drain is here, in these forums. Sad and depressed people who hate everything new.

Oh come on man . We’re car guys, we love new stuff, but this… it’s tasteless and tacky. Anyone can create ‘new’. Just because we’re not lapping it up like hypnotised fanboys doesn’t mean we’re sad and depressed. There are other manufactures out there hitting all the right notes lately - Porsche and Hyundai immediately come to mind. BMW are not on that list currently (IMO).
