Was that a simple replacement? It looks like it's one bolt and it gets pushed in place. Am I correct?

Thanks for all the help, just wanted to post a message 3 years down the line in case anyone else has these same issues.
Turns out to be a giant nothing burger. BMW Dealership tech was completely off about it, I appreciate all the advice. Ended up taking it to an indy shop and had them change fluids and filters in the transmission and it's been running fine ever since. Haven't had any issues in the past 3 years since that was done. It's still the same pain in slow speed traffic, but as all the DCT owners know, that's just how it comes from the factory. |

Read this thread.
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1974649 . Your DCT fluid is too low due to leaks, or incorrect fill method. The DCT sump system has two immediately serviceable parts- the low pressure filter and the sucking jet pump. Much is seen and heard about servicing the sump filter but rarely does anyone mention the sucking jet pump. An odd term for a part- it is a combination anti-return check valve and venturi pump.

Hard to say for sure. |

PS whine like that usually happens when u turn the wheel.
If it's coming from DCT then I also suspect low fluid level. If you haven't done your DCT fluid in a while I'd flush and replace the fluid following the proper fill procedure. |

Dear Redd, its from the dtc for sure, cause its just coming from Neutral, each minute 6 times, after silence, but if i change the gear to 1 or R meanwhile the noises, that it stops immediatelly! So no connection with wheels!

The noise comes exactly 7 times in 1 minute after silence, that 7 times after silence and so oon, but the gearbox should be in N(eutral). If i change the gear to 1 or R meanwhile after the 1st noise, then the rest 6 wont come, and it would be silent forever, so its only a neutral issue, i lifted up the car and its 100% coming from the dct as well! |

Yes, as far as I know the pump is electrical. There’s a wiring loom on the top of the DCT housing that is difficult to see. The loom also connects to the DCT DME computer. Your DCT fluid level is low. Look up the BMW procedure for refilling it. Search the forums.

I agree with Redd and DrFerry. Your DCT fluid level is low. In N, does it make the noise seven times per minute for the first minute only or does it continue to repeat the noise for the second minute, third minute…?

I spend infinite time to go around this problem, this is happening continuesly, just as the gearbox or the engine or the clutches warm and warm more, the sound become more silent and silent, in the beginning its possible to hear from the interior(without music of couse, but with running engine of course) later its possible to hear only when you go close to the dct for instance when you lift it up, but as long you hold it in gear one or R, it never comes, so so so strange! ![]() |

I doubt you need a new pump you just need to add enough fluid for the pump to grab instead of air.
