Haha, the other side of race/track car…Have you driven, or been a passenger, in a car with MCS 2/3/4WR or Ohlins TTX 2/3/4-way or Moton MS 2/3/4-way dampers with street rates? If not, you’d be amazed by their performance and comfort. It’s indescribable because people don’t believe you unless they’ve experienced it for themselves. I have a MCS 2WR setup on my wife’s f22 m240ix with street rates and she could immediately feel the difference between the stock and MCS suspensions. It’s spoiled her! She wants our g20 330ix to handle the same way.

Those who know are blown away when they get in my setup. Is it rough? Yeah. But outside huge bumps it won’t kill you. Yet, with solid aluminum subframe bushings and black race on the diff PLUS Ohlins dedudicated set to 15 clicks, it’s not unbearable.

Yet you can then take an off ramp @ 75 marked for 15 with the front end still waiting for a STEEPER turn in. Just f’fing stupid for a car designed almost 20 years ago. Just great match for our cars the Ohlins. Then go to 1 - 5 clicks depending on the track and flat out the car is better than 9/10 drivers at any even I got to. If I added a top of the line BBK with cups I’d venture to guess it may offer more than anyone not a professional could extract.

What is your ride height vs OEM?

At what lowering value is the kit delivered?

I had it set to ZCP ride height as per this thread:

It will sag a little after 1k kms so you might want to check ride height again after that. The damper will also break in a bit after 1k kms and the ride will be a bit less harsh.

Don't remember what height the kit came set at from factory. I would not assume that it's set to correct height from factory. Remember to also adjust your sway bar drop link collars so that the link ball joints are at the correct angles.

10k kms report:

After 1.5 years with the TracTive I finally managed to bring it on track at Sepang International Circuit last night. Did a full 55 mins session with no stops in between, just a cool down lap or two every few hot laps to keep temps under control.

The TracTive performed flawlessly. I was running 5-4-5-3 (fr-rr-ro-pi). Basically full-stiff with a bit less pitch control for weight transfer. Right off the bat I noticed that the TracTive was 'stiffer' on track than Ohlins R/T despite having softer springs that the Ohlins. With the Ohlins I would notice more body lean in the high speed sweepers, but the TracTive was perfectly flat in the same turns. The DDA valve really works! Not once did I feel that I needed more spring rate, whereas with Ohlins it was very obviously undersprung for the track. The car was predictable in transitions, grip was better than the Ohlins. In general, the TracTive was just more predictable and confidence inspiring at the track compared to Ohlins R/T. If your car is your daily but you want to do a handful of trackdays in a year, I would recommend TracTive over the Ohlins.

Since it was my first time on track with the TracTive and I didn't pit so I didn't make any setting adjustments. In future, I think I may try more damping in the rear and play around with pitch control to see if I can get any more performance out of the setup.

Have you had any more track days? Do you still feel like the soft spring rates they come with support the car enough?

I love the fact you can use soft spring rates and then the dampers magically support the car during roll/pitch. It's just sometimes I'm like... really you can go THAT low in spring rates?
