FYI, Other than #2 & #6, I have not further inspected any of the rods/ bearings. I have been preparing to remove the engine/ DCT. I'm close and will post loads of photos once I do.

Attached are a series of additional photos including bearing shells and other remains extracted with a magnet.

I was thinking of sending a very concentrated sample of the oil to Blackstone, just to see how they respond...

Yes, I remember you did this. I think that's pretty cool and a great idea. I think if it were the real source of significant bearing wear, BMW could have done it themselves as well. For me, that's what I was trying to say.
