After owning a 2017 F80 for two years, I grew tired of the S55 / DCT combo.
Sold it and bought a model 3. It's fine. Love the awd and acceleration, but it isn't a sports car. W/ "accel boost", it has more "engine" than chassis, which feels weird. Also, they're everywhere now, so nothing unique. Goods: I don't care about it. Never wash it, park anywhere. It's just an appliance. Will drive it to 300k miles. Just cancelled my G80 order and bought a 2011 E90 M3 6MT instead. G80 can be had later anyway. Now I rotate through both. There's just nothing like the S65 at full song. I love all the fine mechanical sounds too. Mod'ing has been fun. That said, I don't want to waste the M3 on commuting or errands, so that's what the Model 3 is for.

I absolutely agree with you on the S65 as a fantastic experience. I absolutely would rather put 300k on the Model 3, to save my pocketbook the pain for 300k miles of S65 maintenance!
