Killer Chiller ❄️

This will be pretty brief but I have been getting a lot of interest on how I did my killer chiller setup because a lot of people were saying there isn't any room. I'm here to tell you they are wrong! sorry it's taking me so long but once I got my twin turbo Lambo I have kinda forgot about the bimmer .

This requires cutting of the front shroud and the killer chiller mounts right behind the front crash bar. I completely removed the heat exchanger although I do have the bypass valve that came with the killer chiller kit I just elected to not install it.

Installing it is not complicated at all. it can be a DIY with the exception of evacuating the refrigerant. You just tap into your suction and liquid lines with the included Tees. The most difficult part was getting the hoses onto the Tees. it would be better if you could get one of those hand held hose installers that presses them on. I forget the name of the tool.

Im going to start driving it again this summer because the lambo has a hole in the piston so it'll be out of commission for a few months. The last time I checked the five gallon trunk tank I was getting around -3 degrees!

I notice you mention there not being room but you have deleted the heat exchanger.

I have a chiller sat in a box here for my Harrop m3 but didn't want to delete the h/e as I track the car, in my case there really is a space issue unless you cut the front crash bar which I'm not keen on atm

It fits even with the heat exchanger from the ESS kit I can't speak for the other kits out there. I'm going to have to trim my crash bar in a few weeks when the m2 bumper comes in for it. If it can be replaced fuck it why not? 😂

Do you have an extra reservoir for the fluid placed in trunk or another place? I've noticed that you ESS coolant reservoir is gone :P

5 gallon ice ank in the trunk but it's overkill. I would get a 3 gallon reservoir for a killer chiller setup with 3/4" coolant hoses all the way up.

Thanks for this info! Just got mine done yesterday and went very quick with this guide. Just need to find someone to hook up the A/C lines…excited for the results.

I am thinking about the ichiller version for my F90 M5. I use upgraded IC and water meth now, but the effect of the killerchiller type IC coolant refrigerators looks fantastic. Would not want to be paying for the Lambo rebuild….

How well did this set up work? Whats your AITs vs Ambient? Here in AZ during the summer im seeing 130ish when its 105 out, the car would love some colder air.

Got my first test run in. It works well. I’m in NJ. Temp gauge on car says 83, but it is super humid and hot. None of the lines are insulated yet and I’m running intake temps of 85-89 with G1 kit and 88mm pulley. I’m still on the provided ESS expansion tank also, so maybe additional coolant volume will help. Without the chiller, I would be running at least 15-20 degrees hotter intake temps with this setup.

My ac conpressor went out shortly after running the killer chiller. My car had 140k miles on it so i wasnt surprised. Just be prepared to reolace the ac compressor if you run the KC on a higher mileage car

Nothing goes as planned lol, im curious how this end up working for you. I will pull the trigger if all works well.
