Thinking about trying them out if I don’t get a set of AD08Rs that might still be floating around. Just wondering if they’re as good of a dual purpose tire as their predecessor.

Debating to use these for my next set. I am currently on ECS which are pretty good. I'm wondering if they will rub with the typical 255/35/19 275/35/19

I’m betting they will up front if you have an aggressive offset. I’m probably going to be the guinea pig and order a set in those sizes for my ZCP wheels. Have a couple Autocross events I’m really wanting to try them out on next month.

Im +22. That size already rubs and my added caster doesnt help. Interested to see how you like them

Got them mounted and took the car for a drive in the mountains. The feel awesome, definitely a meaty tire. They do rub front and rear with 12mm spacers. Not as bad as I was expecting though. I’ll probably just deal with it, might try a 7mm spacer on the rear. They balanced very well, one didn’t even need any weights at all on OEM 359s.

They are not as harsh or noisy as I was expecting, so on the street I’m very pleased with them. Hopefully get to try them out in some Autocrosses next month.

How are they in the wet? Are they somewhat dailyable?

Is there any specific reason you would choose this tire over ADVAN A052 ?

A052’s aren’t as popularly produced in 19” tire sizing. if i’m not mistaken, i don’t believe they make them in 19” at all. but from what i’ve heard this compares very well to the A052 but not fully.

They do: 255/35 & 275/35

The A052 is a faster tire if you are shooting for lap times but the AD09 is more street friendly and last longer. They fill the same role the AD08R occupied.

I have run both a052 (4 sets) and ad09 (1st set) the a052 is a great tire and it’s fast both for times and wear. I’ve managed to get a little over 4K miles on the front tires but the rear tires have lasted me two sets of fronts.

So far the ad09 have been great, the grip levels aren’t that far off the a052, and they seem to be wearing pretty good. I haven’t tracked with them yet but I’m sure they will wear better than the a052 from what the Yokohama rep is telling me.

If anyone is looking for a set of 19” ad09 I have some for sale 255/35/19 - 265/35/19 less than 500 miles. Slide into the dm

Wow that's quite a fair bit quicker. I'm a huge fan of AD08R for street use mainly due to how long they last. Maybe I'll try AD09 next.

30k kms front, 20k kms rear. Mainly street driven, hill runs every weekend, 1-2 trackdays a year.

Well to me the AD08R wears very well already. If the AD09 can match that and provide better performance then I'm all for it.

One of the things I don't like about the AD09 though is that they are assymmetrical. I can get so many kms out of the AD08R cos they are directional and I'm able to swap them left to right to even out camber wear.

I agree. Similar mileage, my ad08 had to be swapped due to age lol.

I was going to get ad09 as it's priced right, noise level, and durability compared to the competition but I got the last batch of ad08s just because of symmetrical design. It's fallen out of favor for most manufactures.

Yes, I haven’t driven on them in heavy rain or standing water, but they are fine on wet roads. Id probably be a little cautious about hydroplaning as you would with any tire in this category.

Seems like AD09 is 6s faster than AD08RS, and on par with A052.
