Oil Level
Just wanted to post my observations on the oil level dipstick reading.
At first, i thought the system was inaccurate and slow. I have come to find out that it is super accurate and immediate. My problem was I could never gauge it and figure out how much to top off correctly. Topping off the oil would result in a too full state. Through years of trial and error and a measuring cup, I can confidently post my findings. Measurements: It seems that gauge measures a full liter of oil. Meaning, totally empty reading needs a full liter. The gauge is broken down into quarters. Each quarter line represents 250 ml. Get the engine to full operating temperature and use the cluster to check the oil level. Have the car level and let it idle for about 40 seconds...hit and hold the "BC" button and the car will take a real time reading. I found it best to wait until the reading is %50 and add 500 ml of oil. I found this sequence gets the oil level perfect, instantly. |
