Novice question!
Been running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S with close to the max possible camber with my setup. Still rolling the fronts a lot. Would track tires mitigate that issue? If so, any recommendations? I'd love something as communicative, noob-friendly, and long-lived as possible (in that order), with as little added grip as possible vs. the PS4S (don't want to hide my mistakes). |

Endurance tires. RS4 or AD08, or Continental Force. You can save the shoulders with a little higher pressures too.

Try and be more patient with turn in, feel like the car is hooking before aggressively turning the wheel. And then be super patient with throttle from mid corner to exit to avoid understeer / pushing the fronts. That will improve wear and likely make you faster.

Is there anything that you guys recommend that’s still dailyable? Maybe a bit more aggressive than a ps4s. Are cr-s, ar-1, rs4, or nt01’s good options for both? Or will I hydroplane off the road if I hit any water 😂.
Thanks! Matt |

But they’re expensive to “waste” driving around town. I’d stick to PS4.

They’re definitely much softer than PS4S, and a summer performance tire so not great for the cold. But they won’t fall apart from driving around town. Just more performance oriented (Auto X, or HPDEs).

I’d be using them so I could do some hpde and lots of autox (at limerock) and still be able to drive around town. I don’t think I’d really ever drive below 50° with them since they only be on until late August.

If I were to do it. Would one or the other be better? I’d imagine the best wet performance would be important since id definitely do some rain driving

Those are basically the same tire. Go with size and price.

They won't kill you in the rain, they just won't evacuate water like the Michelin, Conti in deep water, and won't stick like the Stones or Yokes in the damp

Anybody have some feedback? Tires I have experience on this car with PS4S, Conti ECS and DW, PSS, Hoosiers, Kook RS3's, Falken RT615K+s...the SuprerCar3's...of those the most miserable on the street were the Falkens. I understand the Stones won't be miserable in the wet like the Falkens, but still curious about tire roar. Even with a pretty loud exhaust this car still hushes up on the highway really nicely on the Goodyears.

Debating retiring the ECS tires I have on my M3 before the next track event I have at VIR at the end of April. I think each tire still has the DW wear markers visible and I'm not into the sidewalls with the pressures I run.
They've got 3 track weekends and maybe 6.5k miles on them with road use. They vibrate above 50mph, but I'm not sure if that's old track marbles or not. They seem to have scrubbed clean since the last event in September. |

Anyone have some suggestions on a tire for 100% HPDE use? Dedicated wheel set so no street use, I'm running a 275/35/18 now which fits nicely so if I can stick with that size it'd be great. I am relatively new to track events so I am putting a preference on a cost effective tire that gets me lots of seat time, over an expensive tire that is super fast but wears out after a couple of weekends.
Needs in order of importance: Long life/hard wearing Cost effective Great dry grip Decent wet grip Don't care about noise or stiffness since it's not used on the street.

I feel like the 71RS is currently the defacto tire for our platform. I’m not sure what more you can ask for.
