does the turner plenum come apart like that any time you want, or are those promo pics and it is normally glued shut?
i'm also curious about the awd delete on the wagon. did you just tune the ecu to never send power to the front wheels, or did you full on remove the front diff and put in non-xdrive components?

XHP Flashtool has a lot of transmission related flashes. For this chassis, they offer different trans tunes as well as the X-delete. It's an electronic deactivation of the front diff.

Been a big fan of your builds. Kinda random, but I literally just bought the grey e92(on the lift)in the shop photo you just posted haha. Was stoked to be able to see your car in person when I picked mine up today at the shop

Man, what a fucking weekend.
Thank you to my buds at European Auto Source for getting the car ready, this includes StripclubDJ even though our relationship is based on Jersey Mike's being provided daily. Drove to Buttonwillow at 4:30am on Sunday, on 2-day old RT660's, and really just went out to have fun and shake the car down with the new wing. I'd planned to do spring rate changes and maybe an upgrade to MCS 3way remotes, but it hasn't happened and I'm still on the old 1WNR's with 600/900 rates. I was nervous about adding the wing and introducing a bunch of understeer to the car, but it really wasn't bad! My car was always set up to rotate a lot, between the rates, damper settings and alignment, so the wing has just calmed things down and added a lot of high speed stability. I didn't play at all with AOA. It's pretty neutral, but I might be able to dial out a little more angle still. I had some high speed understeer in sections that you'll get it in most cars. I think another 100lbs of rear spring or less wing angle will do the trick. Running 1CCW configuration at Buttonwillow was an entire new track for me. I'd driven this config once about 6 years ago in my 135i... that's it. This way around the track feels rapid and exhilarating. The Esses come at you fast, and they feel longer. 127mph smashing curbs and turns is a trip in the M3. Phil Hill has a fast approach and somehow feels more blind this direction, but seems like it could be taken WAY faster. Probably another 10mph there if I had the balls. Riverside is sketch! I constantly felt lost in there and was just hoping not to have high speed understeer. On my best lap, I felt the outside of the track lurking and just stabbed the throttle to let the diff send me where I needed to go. The club corner kink toward Cotton Corners is terrifying... Running out of track there would be disastrous and I felt like I was getting closer than I needed to. Fresh tires would have helped. All in all, an awesome day with a small turnout and good competition. Came away with 1st place in B2! Love this car more and more at every stage.

UPDATE TIME!
MCS finally gave me the green light to send my dampers in for what we thought would be a fast turn around. They honored their end of the deal, but FedEx royally dropped the ball. I pulled the suspension and sent it out 2nd day from CA to GA. It was supposed to arrive Thursday AM, but after getting completely lost, found, lost again, and delayed, it finally showed up to MCS on Tuesday AM. With the car on jack stands in my home garage, using a bag of harbor freight tools and my iPhone flashlight, I received the dampers back at 4pm on Thursday afternoon, just 12 hours before my alarm was set to leave for a Buttonwillow track day with SoCal Drivers Club. ![]() Before I get into that, just wanted to take a minute to say how fucking cool it is that you can buy MCS bottom-of-the-line coilovers and later decide that you want some of the best stuff they make, and have them upgraded. Here's a before and after, and the only photo I have of the new babies off the car since time was tight. ![]() ![]() Also finally taking a break from running 275/35 RT660's, which I ran exclusively since the beginning, and trying out the new RE71RS in 295/30 square. They're beefy, but they fit perfectly on 18x10.5 +20 with no spacers. ![]() ![]() Being on the floor with jack stands and one failing jack wasn't ideal for jamming on this install having never installed remotes myself before. Thanks to StripclubDJ for answering all my phone calls in a pinch, even without getting him a sandwich he's still an A+ friend. I routed the lines and canisters, and luckily had photos of my camber plates to get back where I was before I removed everything. I marked the front shocks for perch heights too, and didn't touch the rear springs of course, so while the car 100% needed an alignment, I didn't have time to get one and it looked good enough to give it a shot. ![]() ![]() I almost called it quits since I had to fill the reservoirs with nitrogen and had no means to do so, but another friend saved me on his way to the track that night. He has an entire nitro setup for this purpose and we dialed all 4 canisters in to MCS's recommendations, which are on the low end.. 150psi front, 125psi rear. I buttoned everything up with temporary zip ties, set rebound, low speed and high speed compression to the rec'd settings and then spent another hour cleaning up and getting the car off the jack stands... time for quick jacks. I was exhausted, but still couldn't fall asleep till 1am just from being so wired doing the install and making sure everything was tight and proper. By 5am, I was on the road to Buttonwillow. ![]() I also made sure to put my new high-tec $11 foam GoPro case on to ensure we finally get some decent sound out of these laps. Can't believe how much better this sounds than a nice external mic behind the seat. Game changer if you want one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JB582PB...roduct_details ![]() ![]() Set my pressures and decided to just go out on track at 8am. I took the whole summer off from driving and hadn't been back on 13CW in over 6 months, but I love this track so much, and it's burned in my memory. The out let felt good... So much confidence out of the gate. The dampers just soak up everything. Car did feel WAY softer than it used to, despite keeping the rates the same, but I just felt it out a bit, got some heat in the tires and brakes, and went for a moderate pace lap 1. Turned out this would be my only clean lap of the day without traffic, and it just happened to be a 1:51.62, two tenths faster than my previous best. The car is rolling quite a bit and understeering way too much. I did make some adjustments through the day and it started to feel better, but I was never able to put a lap together, and instead of trashing brand new tires with no alignment, I just hung out with friends and drove some other cars. All in all, calling this a huge success. Had a lot working against me and can't believe I even made it to the track with the car, let alone set a new PB. Going to work on making some adjustments, corner balancing and aligning this thing, and getting back out as soon as I can. Being this close to a 50 is exciting, but getting there and hopefully beyond is going to take some work and patience. The car was SO dialed, and in some ways I'm starting a bit fresh between the dampers, wing and tires, but I'm feeling motivated to make it work, so I'll try to keep that up. Here's the lap!

I feel ya berns regarding transport. Sent my diff via UPS to Dan for a build and UPS lost it last Tuesday when it was loaded and out for delivery. I've opened investigations and customer case and still nothing.
A 100lb 24"x24"x24" box goes missing? Fuck them. Now my car is sitting in the garage without a diff. ![]() Killer new setup and get the man his sandwiches already! ![]()

So impressed how you are able to get your car to under 3200lbs. I not sure what to even remove to reach there. Your lap times are impressive.
Please share more details what you have done to the interior weight reduction. Amazing build.

It also helps if you're 6MT vs DCT. That's worth a good 60-ish lbs IIRC.
There are a lot of 5-10lb item here and there to remove that help.

AG battery is an easy one to get 40-50, not sure if you've done that. My AP kit was worth 30 too. After that the compromises start to get larger or the cost is a lot more for negligible savings. I'm thinking of starting a new weight savings thread, the original one is a bit archaic now. I was 3,397 with 15 gallons and DCT - TC Design 1/2 cage - Akra Evo - Race Tech seats - Rear seat delete - AG battery - Titan7 TS-7 wheels - AP 9660 / 9449 brakes I'm targeting another 100lbs keeping sound / AC and adding aero. - m24 hood - CF trunk - carbon plenum - ancillary trunk accessories - rear hvac delete - mjunkee armrest - not sure what else yet

New threads are cool and all but at this point, it just doesn't matter much. You either commit to a certain level of rawness and effort in reducing weight, or you pussy foot around and end up doing that anyway. Even I've done that, although I started off pretty strong.
For a while I was adamant about leaving my rear door cards and rear shelf and full carpet, even considered doing a proper rear seat delete. It all adds up... IF all you're going to do is drive this thing to the track, or the canyons, or tow it to the track, then there's no reason not to remove as much as possible. My current limit is leaving the front carpet in and keeping the headliner, dash and center console with gts arm rest. Weight is the ultimate enemy of this car. It's the only reason people never thought it was "fast". But man... at 31xx and 8700rpm with a 4.10 and a few killer NA mods / tune, this thing rips.
